KG started smoking, went ice cold, and finished really strong.

Pierce.... all heart.

They did a great job forcing Kobe into tough shots.

Great great game IMO.

Haters are going to have a field day, either KG and Pierce, or Kobe has to lose this series, and they get to pile it all on the loser.....

Old man Brown was the key for the Celtics down the stretch combined with the emotional lift of Pierce coming back. If they keep grabing double digits offensive rebounds they have a good chance of winning this series. If Pierce is hampered by the knee they're in trouble though. He was playing on adrenaline.
Kobe set the tempo, it wasn't the team relying on him. It was Kobe forcing to many shots. I think Kobe regressed back to his old habits.

Celtics win game 1 at home. No big deal. Celtics are supposed to win.

They took them out in the last 5 minutes. TO's and making kobe take bad shots.

Still really impressed with how all 4 played, KG, ALLEN, PIERCE, RONDO. Kudos to Pierce on coming back. Love that guy. I'd love to see this guy get a championship.

Does Paul Pierce's number belong in Boston's rafters?

It seems like Paul Pierce all but cemented his place in Celtic history with his dramatic return in Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals.

To everyone who keeps saying the celtics did what they had to do, the Lakers have to win at least 1 road game if they want to win this series, and tonight was a PERFECT opportunity with having a lead at the half and all the momentum and Piece going out of the game with an injury.

Tonight was a great opportunity to steal a road game, I dont think that will happen much.

Fantastic team win by Boston! They're so fun to watch.

Really good first game of the finals, definitely one of the better games of the playoffs, too

Lakers were overwhelmed a handful of times tonight - the role-players need to play better, who are definitely capable of playing better... and I think the Lakers decent amount of youth did show up tonight.

Boston's defense improved pretty well in the 2nd half

All the rest helped Boston out more so because they went to 2 game 7's and a game 6. They needed the rest and now they get 2 days off before Sunday's game.

Kobe played a **** Game 1. I'm sure he's coming out on fire in Game 2. Still, I think Lakers win by 1. Kobe hits the game winner in 4th Overtime on Saturday.

I said earlier that if Boston is confident, they are the better team, period, La needs to cut their throat to win this series, they seem to be getting better with every game of every series. I think we are ready for a great finals, enjoy it NBA'ers.

That was the most entertaining NBA Finals game1 since Bulls/Jazz 1997 whereby Jordan capped off a tight and physical game with the buzzer-beater.

OMG they are hyping this Pierce thing. I know a lot of good players who would have found a way to finish this game. Its the Finals. Its expected IMO.
