NJ fans should be pissed, trading a good player for a sucky player just so your owner can make $$$, its unfortunate.

Lets just dump all players that dont score double doubles in their rookie years. Rediculouus to give up on a player after one year.

Love the trade for both teams. Yi played well when the Bucks were playing unselfish basketball early in the season. RJ is an awesome fit for the Bucks who were in desperate need of an SF.

That should take Michael Redd off the market now and maybe put Vince Carter on the market as it shows the Nets are clearly trying to rebuild. Hey if the Nets want to give us Vince Carter for Larry Hughes and Chris Duhon and 2nd round pick, I'm all for it.

The Nets got what one can expect from this kind of trade - a young prospect and cap relief.

That cap relief comes 2 years from now though...

They want the cap room for 2010, and they got it. We aren't going to spend our cap space before then anyway.

Sometimes getting the best player out of the trade doesn't make a winner of the trade. Jefferson is a good player, but by no means a franchise changer. With the current Bucks roster, it looks like a middle of the road team. A borderline playoff team. The worst place to be especially if you have that much money committed to Redd and Jefferson. Bogut is due for an extension this summer. Unless there are additional moves, the Bucks long term future doesn't look bright.

agreed. to me it looks like the bucks are trading into mediocrity while the nets are trading out of it.

The Bucks were in mediocrity, we aren't in it anymore.

Yi is 23 or so, not 20. Not old, but not as young as his "official" age has been given by the Chinese.

Did he admit to that because to me that is only rumor.

Let's put it this way. When he first came to Milwaukee he was asked about his age many times. Not once would he say how old he was. He kept deflecting the question, talking about how it didn't matter, it wasn't important, etc... Seemed kind of odd. If he was 19 he would have just said "yes I'm 19, next question".

Media investigations pointed to a birth year of 1984.

Considering the HUGE revenues Yi can bring the Nets from China and the shoe deals for his teammates, that's got to be a big plus for the Nets.

One or two more moves and I'd start worrying about the Bucks. At least for 2 years until Skiles wears out his welcome.

Who is the third member of this elite 3? Wait Redd is elite? Wait Jefferson is elite?

I'm not against the trade, the Nets have direction now... Hopefully the second trade they're bound to make (11 players under contract + 3 draft picks + 2 free agents they'd possibly like to resign) is to move up in the draft.

Bucks: Good move... Iffy situation with Yi (defense, rebounding, toughness next to Bogut), heart wasn't with Milwaukee, finally get a quality SF next to Redd that is a good defender, get rid of Simmons deal

Nets: Decent move... Simmons expiring deal for 2010, get legit talent and offense up front, further the rebuild process

I think the Bucks taking Alexander is still legit, I'd say Skiles and the Bucks are still high on him (and this was reported, too) from all that they've done with him, and while Jefferson helps their toughness to an extent, they still need more toughness as a team front-court... Jefferson doesn't really change things as far as there not being room for Alexander, the Bucks are still semi-rebuilding, and especially since Alexander may not even be a starting SF in the NBA, but more of a good big foward 6th man.
