Gilbert Arenas could potentially get 100M

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:22 pm

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit ridiculous?

Thanks to Rashard, we will see a lot of ridiculously overpaid players in the future. Arenas isn't worth 100 million by his play, I mean he's a great player but he's an injury risk. Hey, at least he is marketable.

P.S. : Kudos to Gilbert for getting this money without an agent. When he retires, maybe he can be one.

100mil for 6 years ridiculous? For a top 15 player? I don't believe so.

I will have a problem with 124mil/6yrs, though. But 100mil for 6 years would be a very fair deal, in my opinion.

Seems good to me.

Boozer is reportedly looking for 6 years $136M.

Do you pay Boozer $136M or Arenas $100M?

Easy, Arenas!

Plus $50M for Jamison. $150M for these 2 players. That's why this team will never win a championship.

I don't believe anyone would pay Boozer 6 years/$136M deal. Also, I don't believe he is "ridiculously overpaid", but "a little overpaid" because of his injury.

really? cause i'd say $226M for boozer and williams is much worse on utah's part. look it's alot of money over a lot of years, but both the arenas and jamison deals were fair. they got paid what they are worth.

Worse than Rashard's contract?

I don't think he's worth that much to the Wizards. He is worth that much to teams like the Hawks or Clippers though.

I don't know. He's kind of like Baron Davis. If healthy, he's worth every cent. If on the bench in a suit for most of the season, he's not.
