There was a Sparks player holding Lisa Leslie back it appeared.

Then Rick Mahorn is seen heading towards Lisa Leslie, and literally shoved her with two hands. Leslie falls on her ass.

Mahorn doesnt even offer to pick her up or anything. He simply shoved her, saw her fall, turned his body, and kept on with is business as if nothing happened
.

Leslie was then seen complaining to the refs about Mahorn.

She was later interviewed, ans she was clearly distraught. She was crying on the bench, and was visibly upset.

We must be watching two different videos because that isn't how it looked at all.

Really? That seems to be pretty much what happened in this video (at 1:37 left):

I love how half the people in this thread jump to conclusions about Mahorn, his actions + "penalty/future" before seeing the clip.

You mean biased in favor of a team i've seen play three times in my life, or biased against a man I've never seen play in my life?

Mahorn did not push her to the ground. If you actually watch it closely. Leslie totally lost balance trying to throw a punch or swinging her arms at Mahorn. Total prejudice being displayed because of his bad boys background.

By the way, the refs were absolutely horrendous in this game. I thought it would be impossible to see refs that are worse than NBA refs, but this game definitely featured them.

The Shock made a valiant effort in the comeback but got royally screwed by the refs. One, a totally clean block was called a foul with the Shock down by only one with about 55 secs to go. Then, the Sparks clearly turned the ball over with about 17 secs to go, Sparks up 1. After Cooper complained, they over turned the call, giving it back to the Sparks. Leslie proceeded to score, giving the Sparks a 3 pt lead.

I didn't see Mahorn doing anything either. I kept watching and I just couldn't see it. Am I blind or something or did this happen in someone's imagination?

Maybe youre right. I guess Leslie's post-game interview, the ESPN announcer chicks broadcasting live, and the ESPN crew are just making it all up.

The commentators said that Mahorn didn't shove Leslie, I don't know what you're talking about. They said there was contact but he definitely wasn't shoving.

EDIT: And on top of that, Cooper said that Mahorn was just trying to break up the fight. Don't vilify the guy just yet. Jeez.

Straight from teh broadcast buddy:

"At the top left corner of the screen Jones hit Mahorn on the back because he pushed Lisa Leslie then Leslie crashed to the floor".

"I saw it live though. He (Mahorn) gave Lisa a push to try and get her away and Lisa went crashing backwards and hit the deck on her back"

"We dont have it on camera but I clearly saw it live.

Not sure if this link has been posted but...

At about 6:07 you can see Mahorn (in the 1993 NBC style blue suit) creep into the screen and push Leslie. It looks sort of aggressive to me...not very "peace-maker" like.

Mahorn did not shove Leslie to the ground - do you not see her swinging at him?

He was holding everybody back during the Piston/Pacer brawl. He was a physical player, but now he's always stopping fights. He's a classy guy who gets a bad rep.

As for the poster who made the comment that all Detroit players pick fights when they're losing, stop being ignorant.

heres the live video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muEzq1K9 ... re=related

fast forward to the end of it, the announcers who saw it live said that he was just trying to guide her away, and didn't try to push her.

Mahorn wouldn't have got away with touching a lady in Wisconsin....he would have been locked up!

LOL...a ratings push.

Cooper and Laimbeer (who should be an NBA coach) almost got into it...

Some angles make it look like he pushed her and others don't. I can't see why she would fly backward so fast if she simply stumbled. People don't normally slide on their butts from stumbling. And I don't think her teammates would react like that if she simply slipped or something.

From what i can see it looks like a dramatic flop by Lisa Leslie....Reminds me of the Mayo ref incident.

Mahorn was trying to play peacemaker and Leslie slipped.

Howeveer, if he did indeed push Leslie on purpose, I'd like to shake his hand.
