Initially, I felt bad because Arthur fell in the draft.

Now, I think he's an absolute idiot. Chalmers, too. There is really no excuse.

Not so much. It shows poor decision making on their part. If they're giving in to this kind of stuff before the preseason even starts, how are they going to handle the temptations of the regular season? They let Jayhawks fans down, they let their new teams fans down, it's embarrassing.

It's a good thing Miami didn't keep Jason Williams around. Sharing joints and all.

Bad, bad situation there, they really need to learn from this. Howeer I'm not going to label them punks/thugs/knuckleheads/idiots/malcontents/whatever for their career, though. I think both ultimately know better than this.

@ the suspension talk in here...

Ben Wallace got 6 games for what eventually turned into one of the low points in NBA history...

Wilbon says 50... people in here are saying 3-5... it should be -internal- punishment. At most the league should suspend them both one game... Josh Howard comes out and says he uses pot, and all he got was a stern talk and a finger wag..

All this should net them is a mandatory piss cup once a month for an entire season or whatever the rule is on failing your first test... sure it was a stupid move, but their friggin kids... why are people already in the NBA failing 1st time piss tests getting warnings and fines, yet these kids deserve suspensions? :crazy:

Does an NBA player get suspended for their first offense? Darius Miles just got 10 games cuz he tested positive for some type of drug this summer. An article I read said that to get this type of suspension, he had to have tested positive 3 previous times. So what happened the first, second or third time?

I agree, these guys were ridiculously stupid and their teams should deal with them. The league dealt with them already by handing them a $20,000 fine and sent them home. I think it's over unless the team decides to sit them for a game or two.

Again... ridiculously stupid!

People could be too soon to pull out the NBA is rigged card if they are saying Beasly is getting away with it cause hes a star.

What if it was in the guys bags who were rooming togetehr or their possesions. I dont see how that faults him.

Anyways thye should get a 1 game suspension. I know plenty of very sucessful people who smoked weed in their day. I wouldnt be suprised is 20 percent of the league smoked occasionly.

This world is messed up. Yeah it's alright for the players to drink, but smoking a joint results in a suspension and a heavy fine.
