Honestly... do that in your house... not at the hotel room where they are trying to teach you life skills as a NBA player and not end up broke after you are done with the NBA. Idiots.

Well yeah... but lets be honest... there is a safe assumption that many NBA basketball players partake in smoking weed.

Very good point....

One was projected as a lotto pick... another was projected as a first rounder...

Look where they ended up...

It is extremely poor judgment from them to actually bring such things in a NBA related event.

This is what you call poor judgement. Why would you bring that while you are attending an event hosted by the NBA?

Most interesting thing from what article was this:

A source said No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley was also in the room. The NBA, however, said Beasley is not believed to have been involved.

Hmmmm......cover up?

The players were caught by NBA security at the Doral Arrowwood resort in Rye Brook, N.Y., where 69 of the league's rookies arrived last night for the four-day seminar in which coaches, referees and former players speak about adapting to the league.

Nothing else is said about that.

Thats kinda messed up if Beasley didnt get in trouble JUST because he's the #2 pick...

I dont get the rationale of some professional athletes... people are paying you millions of dollars to play basketball and all you have to do is obey the law and follow a dress code and a lot of them cant even do that

Beasley was there but he didn't inhale.

Unless they caught the doob in mid-pass between Chalmers and Arthur I don't see how they can punish 2/3's of the guys in the room. . . .

That's an interesting comment, but most ballers who make it or get a shot at the NBA are surrounded by people who bend the rules here and there to get that guy into their HS, on their prep team, on their AAU team, into their college, and to sign with a particular agent.

These guys see people who are taking short cuts and breaking all kinds of rules simply because they have some mad hoops skills. In this light, it is not all that hard to see why so many of them think that they are above the law.

A couple of major headcases. Miami's point guard situation makes me giggle like a school girl.

"Miami Heat rookie point guard Mario Chalmers was sent home from the NBA's mandatory rookie transition program in New York on Tuesday for having women in his hotel room, an NBA source said."

even the miami media is tough on beasley.
