Yi Jianlian to the 2009 All-Star Game + Injury Report

Post#1 » by NOODLESTYLE » Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:01 am

I tried going for StarburYi and I'm disappointed that Luke Ridnour (No offense to those who voted for him) is getting more votes than Stephon Marbury.

Looking at the the 1st votes that are in, Yi Jianlian is currently ranked 3rd behind KG in votes.

LeBron James (Clev) 643,786
Kevin Garnett (Bos) 495,514
Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556.

2nd returns:
LeBron James (Clev) 1,259,764
Kevin Garnett (Bos) 905,506
Yi Jianlian (NJ) 762,162

3rd returns:
LeBron James (Clev) 1,521,272
Kevin Garnett (Bos) 1,101,541
Yi Jianlian (NJ) 959,324

4th returns:
LeBron James (Clev) 1,940,162
Kevin Garnett (Bos) 1,375,814
Yi Jianlian (NJ) 1,216,348

If Yi wins and starts in the 2009 All-Star game, most people will blame China anyways.

So if anyone wants to join forces in voting for Yi Jianlian, then here's a thread to discuss that.

Injury Report:

http://www.nba.com/games/20090109/NJNMIL/recap.html

Yi scored 16 points, but left late in the third quarter after breaking his pinkie finger on his right hand trying to slap at a ball on defense. He'll miss three-to-four weeks.

"It's a tough time for him because he's been playing great basketball,'' Carter said. "Everybody was looking for Yi to make sure he was all right and support him. ... It's unfortunate.''

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

Yi said he expected to miss several weeks, although there was no official word from the team.

"I'll be out like three or four weeks," Yi said. "It happened, I'll just give it time and come back."

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3822973

Yi said he hurt himself playing defense when he reached for the ball and got his finger caught. He said he heard it pop after trying to take the ball from Michael Redd.

Yi tried to stay in the game immediately after he heard the pop on his hand, but when he came back down and attempted a jumper with 4:36 to play he missed it and said he felt tremendous pain.

"The last shot it felt like I shot my finger," said Yi, who already had a splint and a heavy tape job on the finger after the game.

If everyone could post how many times each day they voted I think that'd be interesting, just so we can keep a tally.

Although I will be voting religiously for Yi, there is no way he'll be able to start.

Stern can EASILY manipulate the numbers so that KG will get the start at the end. If Yi wins, there will be complaints heard from everywhere. That will put pressure on Stern to change the way the voting system works. He's not going to allow that.

You think a few votes from a forum is going to secure Yi. It's not even going to help. Garnett and LeBron will easily win it.

Okay Luke Ridnour, just because you're not getting our votes doesn't mean you should try and stop us.

Garnett needs to be put in his place. I can totally see him going to the all star game and, start to yell at the world. RUAHRHAGHAH. Then he starts breakdancing on all fours.

This guy is a future HOF and has a GOAT potential. I can't believe KG got more votes than him.

YEah... not the most productive post you can make. Please be more mature and make sure not to offend others.
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.
