MRI's are not hard to get read. Any radiologist can offer an opinion, although the specialist's word will likely mean more. I'm guessing the Lakers have at least an idea of what doctors think, and want to see if the specialist confirms or dispels their notions.

My guess is that they haven't release the results yet because Bynum is in the lineup tomorrow against the Knicks. LOL

He was screaming like he was dying on the floor so it looked like it was bad. But in the interview afterwards he said he felt a lot better and could put weight on it. He also did say it hurt on the inside of the knee and not the outside which is exactly where you don't want it to hurt. Its just a lot of mixed messages going on. Hopefully the young boy is alright, if not available for this year then hopefully it isn't something that would affect his career.

If Bynum would've gotten suspended for the Wallace injury, this injury never would've happened.

It's a fact that situations occur based upon a chain of events. If Bynum would've gotten suspended for even one game, he would've done things differently than how he did them leading up to his injury against the Grizz. He wouldn't have woke up at the same exact time, nor would he have went the exact same speed and thus arrived at the arena at the same time that he did. A one minute difference can make or break your life.

Imagine if you would've bought a winning lottery ticket one day before or after you decided to.

You would not be a millionaire.

Imagine if your father did not climax and thus impregnated your mother at the exact time he did.

You would not be alive.

Imagine if Kobe Bryant's father did not go to Japan and fall in love with Kobe beef.

The best player in the league might be named James Bryant.

If Andrew Bynum would've gotten a suspension, he would not be injured right now. I blame David Stern.

DaGOAT- No, Bynum would have been suspended for the T-Wolved game, not the Memphis game.

Unless it was a 2+game suspension

He'll be fine.

Wrong, so wrong, yet kinda funny(well, it will be if Bynum turns out to be ok)

If Bynum intends to get a bionic leg, he won't be allowed to play for USA in the next Olympics.

He'll dominate the Special Olympics though.

You might as well delete the last 4 pages of idiocy and trash posts celebrating injuries. That kind of thing kind of perpetuates fan bashing across the specific team forums.

i'm kinda surprised at the forum wide tolerance of people posting their elation at the news of bynum's injury.

From wheelchair jokes to pics of guys with legs off it is disgusting.....nothing is off bounds....some folks just don't care I guess about other teams players being hurt.

Good luck, Andrew. I don't wish injury to any athlete.

even if he does go down for the rest of the season, they still look like they could win the championship. I still think that w/o Bynum, they are slightly better than the Spurs and they could probably beat Boston too.

One thing that almost makes me not feel any sympathy for this is the relative frustration that we from portalnd recieved when Oden went down. People were decrying bust and he is the next bowie (notably from the LA side). Now that the shoe is on the other foot wear it people. I hope he is not permanantly injured (any tearing of the ACL can do damage to surrounding tissue some never fully recovering, I learned way to much about it being a Oregon Duck fan with 13 season ending injuries last year and half of those ACLs) but even an ACL sprain is painful and slow recovery.

Image

If it is a sprain. A) one good hit and the whole thing could be gone, B) two month full recovery, depending on severity. Best case: He got lucky and sprained the LCL, tendonitus and rehab for a month and be back to full strength

If it is a tear, ACL, MCL, PCL,etc: ACL or MCL are interrior of th knee and could cause a half year recover is it is bad enough (or longer depending on person). Worst case senario: he is out a full year.

He may never be the same player after this depending on the severity and he may be out a long time.

NEW YORK (AP) - Los Angeles Lakers spokesman John Black has announced that Lakers center Andrew Bynum will be out the rest of the season with a partial tear of his MCL. Dr. David Altchek, Bynum's physician, confirmed the results of yesterday's MRI this morning.
