Bigger Injury? Jameer with Disclocated Right Shoulder

I think this injury is worse for the Magic than Bynum's injury for the Lakers. If Nelson misses significant time, they do not have a point guard. Many are also saying the reason why Magic are elite is because of Jameer's inspired play.

You forgot CP3's groin injury.

Hornets have bigger issues than CP3's injury. I am talking about a Big 4 team.

Well without Nelson the Magic have to rely on Anthony Johnson without any kind of backup PG . Not good .

I cried a lil.

All ill say is its time for Rashard to earn that big pay day and for Hedo to play like he did last year for magic to have any chance of staying near the top. Dwight will keep on Dwighting

Or sign Damon stoudamire or Steve Francis and hope mightymouse can replace the younger mighty mouse

i disagree about being more significant than bynum's injury

lack of a point guard isnt going to stop them bringing the ball up and throwing the ball into dwight and playing an in-out game

nelson's three's and ability to collapse defenses will definitely be missed but overall, it isn't going to change the magic's play too significantly

there might be a 10-ish point drop in overall PG production due to the easy buckets nelson gets during the course of a game, but that just means theres more ball in hedo's hands as the primary ball handler in the half-court set

orlando's production and decision making isn't as dependant on PG play as say denver, NO, spurs, utah etc...

Jason Williams should return to Florida!

On topic: that s^cks. They should sign a veteran point now (Issues of Orlando fans since start of season) at least until Nelson is healthy.

Who will make the all-star team in place of him?

their next 4 games:
Clippers (Home)
Indiana (Away)
New Jersey (Home)
Nuggets (Home)
All-Star break

if it's a short term injury then they're in good shape.

It's going to be Mo Williams or Ray Allen so Mark Jackson can finally STFU.

Jameer takes them from a playoff team to a contender...

Bynum (the way he was playing lately) takes the Lakers from contender to favorite....

I think the Bynum injury is more impact... But we have to see if the Lakers depth can keep them at their current pace..

You have to remember that while Bynum was an x-factor for the Lakers....there are 4 guys that can come off the bench and put some minutes in at the 4 and 5 spots... Mhim, Josh Powel, Pau Gasol, Odom, DJ Mbenga.....Neither are Bynum level...but you have to keep in mind that Bynum's season averages are 14 and 8.....Odom starting and Josh Powel getting rotation minutes with Mhim getting some burn at the 5 to spell Gasol will easily make up for 14 points and 8 rebounds.

The one thing the Lakers CANNOT replace is Bynum's defensive presence making guys thing twice about going to the paint for a layup...Bynum playing his A-game can basically erase the impact of guard penetration.

Offensively and on the boards...Odom and Powel getting more minutes more than makes up for Bynum...

Where Bynum is needed most is in that finals matchup....You can get through the west with some difficulty...but Bynum anchoring the D gives the Lakers the best shot at beating either the Celts or the Cavs...

Jameer does a LOT for the Magic...and the fact that there is only Johnson behind him as a backup will be a tough situation until they pick up a decent backup to share minutes...

Lakers w/ Bynum = an elite team
Lakers w/o Bynum = an elite team
Magic w/ Jameer = an elite team
Magic w/o Jameer = not an elite team

Simple concept to understand.

Too soon to tell. Need to see how long he'll be out.

If it's more then a month then this might be relevant.

Magic with Nelson = contender.

Lakers with Bynumn= favorite in West

Magic without nelson= strong playoff opponent

Lakers without Bynumn= contender.

All you want to be is be in the show, then see what happens. So assuming equal time out I'd say Nelson's is more important. The Lakers had Odom and sometimes Ariza on the bench for christ sakes.

I think it huge for them. his improvement is one of the main factors that the Magic went from a play-off team to a title contender. It is definitly going to hurt them if he is out a while

I'd like to see Carter invited ( not going to happen and shouldn't happen i know ^^ ) and just to hear Mark Jackson lament about how bad David Sterns decision was

It has to be two from each elite team in the East, so it'll be even. Orlando gets 2, Cleveland gets 2, and Boston gets 2. Each with 1 starter and 1 bench player.

The Lakers still have Odom and Gasol up front.

we have Anthony Johnson and no one else
