Because soccer players flop before they get hit.

How has this thread lasted 14 pages when the reality is that more soccer players actually get hurt!

However it has nothing to do with the "physicality" of the sports. Basketball is just the type of game where you can get injured easily because of the very unnatural movements. I have rolled my ankle so many times in my life playing basketball. It is just too risky to keep jumping straight up for rebounds and such when the paint is crowded. You land on someones foot, your ankle rolls. Game over.

Its the nature of the sports dynamics. Not the "physicality" of the sport.


I'm pretty sure pickup soccer or basketball are comparable to the pro level.
