Kobe elbow, possible suspension?

Postby jzmagik on Tue May 05, 2009 1:39 am

Did anyone see Kobe throw that malicious elbow and a knee at Battier during that scrum? He didn't even get a technical for it... Meanwhile D12 gets a one game suspension for throwing an elbow, lmao. Obviously Kobe won't get any punishment which shows why this league is a freaking joke.

If Rondo has immunity from Stern, Kobe certainly has it as well.

It was more like a shove with his elbow. I doubt anything comes of this.

It looked to me like he threw an elbow at him, and a knee... How does that not even warrant a technical? I gotta give it to Battier though, he just got up and walked away.

I didn't see it, but there's absolutely no chance Kobe **** Bryant is suspended at this point of the year, especially with the Lakers receiving so much hype. Dwight Howard threw a dirty, blatant, head-hunting elbow though, was Kobe's anything like that? I doubt it, I didn't see anybody making a big deal out of it. It's kind of puzzling that he didn't receive a T though.

Remember when Doug Christie and Mike Bibby's Nose's fouled Kobe's elbow.

I saw it briefly, but they didn't show a replay with a good angle. He put his weight into Battier with his elbow to push himself up. Not sure I would call it a thrown elbow, but it was pretty malicious. Battier is a solider, though.. gets up and dusts himself off. As a Rocket's fan, i wouldn't want Kobe suspended.

How is Dwight's suspension funny? He intentionally threw an elbow after the play.

lobbying for a suspension is lame ... It was a scramble, things happen. The same with Vujacic who went for the ball and happened to hit Shane on the way down.
Enjoy the win, will you ?

Dwights suspension isn't funny, and all things considered if they're going to let Rondo and Kobe get away with these kind of acts, then Dwight shouldn't have gotten suspended...

I saw it, Battier should have sold it but he's not that type of guy.

I doubt the league even recognizes it. Did Adelman point it out in the presser? If not I doubt anything will come of it.

Battier takes the WIN and lets the league worry about the dumb stuff.

I think it was foul, and a hard foul. However it's not a flagrant or suspension simple as Kobe never intent to hurt Battier, it was just in motion of moving his arm.

Bad comparison... While I do not care what happens... Kobe's was more on purpose than accident. Sashas was completely accidental and possibly could happen everytime someone goes for a rebound So, we should do what the media is doing. Leave it alone, and continue to play the Lakers physical.
