ESPN Insider Rumor: Josh Howard to Wizards for 5th Pick.

Either Wizards are going to be a playoff team, or have awful chemistry.

Gilbert is still not a PG.

I really don't like the trade at all for the Wizards. And with Caron and Jamison, what's Howard going to play?

I have no idea. But I guess they could play him at the SG.

I'm not sure I like it for either side. Like Rasho said where does he play? Howard isn't a SG.
I'm not sure what this says about Dallas. Are they looking to start the rebuilding process? Strange trade since the rest of the roster is win-now mode. Dirk is going to be pissed.

is this true? If so then all I have to say is Riley! Get on the phone with the Wizards and get Butler back to Miami! They don't need him anymore!

I am waiting for a link. There were multiple people who posted the news on the espn forums.

I don't have insider so I can't mirror it.

i dont see the problem...either howard or caron would play shooting guard. Caron's been playing shooting guard anyways.

Arenas
Butler
Howard
Jamison
Haywood

pretty small...but could work.

The only way this is true is if the Butler for Amare rumors are legit. And that Butler for Stoudemire trade involved the #5 pick so all in all this rumor sucks and is not true.

Yes, please! This trade benefits Miami more than the Wizards if it happens, because I guarantee that Riles will be calling Grunfeld directly on his cell phone the second it becomes official, and will invite him to a night of debauchery on South Beach. Ultimately, Caron will be ours!!

Maybe, Howard can lose some weight and shift to SG? I dont know how i feel about this move though. Definitely more talent added but i'm not sure how it affects their chemistry

And, he isn't a SG by any standards. So, playing him @ the 2 would just be a misfit IMO, when his skills can be maxed @ the 3.

If this were to go down, how soon can Howard then be traded by Washington? You have to think this is part of a larger trade plan; logic would dictate that either Caron or Josh would be on the move in another trade.

This is an interesting trade. I think it improves the overall talent level of Washington, and I will go against the general opinion and say that I think Butler can play SG because he's got pretty good handles (he's undersized at SF anyways).

PG Arenas
SG Butler
SF Howard
PF Jamison
Cc Haywood

That team will fill up the score board every night, and if they can get out and run, they will be one of the most potent offenses in the league. This puts Washington right back into the mix with 2nd tier playoff teams in the East (below the big 3).

I also like this trade from Dallas's standpoint. They will surely grab Harden, Evans or DeRozen with the 5th overall, giving them a younger, Josh Howard-type prospect for the future. They can still bring in a big name FA this season, and contend for a title, so long as their draft pick can play solid defense and hit open jumpers. This also gives them a very nice piece for the future, if and when they decide to trade Dirk and blow things up.

I actually think it's a good trade for both teams.

That's a very odd trade.

Hmm could Caron be on the trading block?

For my fellow Heat fans, this trade doesn't help us to aquire Butler. We still need assets Washington will want. Beasley is still redundant, as they'll still have the SF and PF spots filled (Howard and Jamison). We have nothing else valuable except expirings, and Washington won't deal Butler for expirings.

The only chance Miami would still have is a 3-way deal...

Also it can't simply be Howard for the 5th as both teams are over the cap, so Washington must be sending something back to Dallas to balance the salary.

Looks like Dallas is rebuilding then. I don't see Kidd staying if they make that trade.
