The poll for the 2nd best record/2nd seed is over in the West conference. Click the team name for poll results. The winner of the previous polls will not be included in new polls. The order of the teams in each poll will be according to the previous poll results. After the 8th best record is determined, the seedings will be adjusted accoring to league rules.

(1) LA Lakers - Pacific Division

(2) San Antonio - Southwest Divison

Waiter, I'm trying to decide between the Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets... I think I'll go with Portland

Denver Nuggets. If they make improvements to the SF/PF spots off the bench. If not *edit* Dallas Mavericks.

Portland. I think they'll end up with the 2nd and San Antonio the 3rd, but for poll's sake... Adding Andre Miller and a summer's improvement for their young guys should push them up the ladder.

Portland..acquiring Andre Miller to lend a helping hand to Roy in terms of leadership will go a long way. Add to internal development and the group intact for one more year and with the first taste of the playoffs, I'd say that they're primed to make a deep playoff run..

id say they are primed for a 5th seed and another first round playoff exit. andre miller is not providing leadership, thats so overrated. has he ever even been out of the 1st round? The answer here is dallas, talent wise they are the third best team in the west.

Still pulling for the Hornets. One of the best players in the game in Paul, one of the better 2-way PF/C combos in West/Okafor, and this year they even have a bench. Wings are very weak, but at least they can shoot, and that's all they'll be asked to do.

I'll go with Portland, Denver just lost Kleiza to Europe, and for those that voted for Dallas look at all the players they trade for or singed. They all have one thing in common they all can play the same position. Shoothing Guard, Small Forward and Power Forward, on top of that they didn't address their needs at Center either!!!!!!!!

player singed or traded for:
Tim Thomas-SF/PF
Shawn Marion-SF/PF
Drew Gooden-PF/C
Quinton Ross-SG/SF
Kris Humphries-SF/PF

Players already on the team:
Josh Howard-SF/SG
Jason Terry-PG/SG
Shawne Williams-SF/PF
Dirk Nowitzki-PF/C

THEY ALL PLAY THE SAME POSITIONS

They don't have a legit C but as far as depth they have at every spot 3 players that can play the spot. they have enough extra parts to get a trade for at least a decent added C.

PG. Kidd/Barea/Beaubois
SG.Howard/Terry/Ross/Buckner
SF.Marion/Williams/Thomas
PF.Nowitzki/Gooden/Humphries
C.Dampier/Jawai/Gooden

do u not realize there are maybe 5 good centers in the nba, so its always okayto say upgrade the position, but of the teams that have one, they are not for sale. so we upgraded every other position. dallas has the 3rd best starting 5 in the west and probably the best bench so id say third is about right

I would vote Den because of their big man rotation. Dall still sucks at that and will get punk throughout the season when facing teams that have good bigs like LAL, Port, Den.
