How did a bat get in their barn anyway?

And Blair is a big marshmallow! He might as well get ready for the ragging he's gonna get in every NBA arena from here on out.

Yeah, the whole thing was epic. While I wouldn't strike a bat for fun, I would strike it if it's circling me, cause they do suck blood, and carry diseases. Also it was delaying the game, and a player could of got hurt trying to avoid the bat during the game. Life isn't fair, the bat learned. Oh well.

He didn't go out of his way and I doubt he did it for amusement. It was all reflex. Super awesome brave reflex.

Bingo. Manu wasn't going out bat-hunting. This thing almost intercepted a Kings fast break earlier. It was disrupting the game and it's not a safe animal to have just flying everywhere in an enclosed arena. Also, it's not as if a bat in a giant arena is easy to catch. It needed to be taken care of.

And no, sorry. One bat's life simply isn't valuable. If this were part of a greater set behaviors for bat-killing at sporting events, one might have a point. But otherwise, no.

You guys do realize bats suck blood?

Actually the vast majority of species of bats don't suck blood. Most bats eat either insects or fruit.

Manu: It's simple, we kill the Bat
Blair: If it's so simple, why haven't you done it yet?
Manu: If you're good at something, never do it for free.

I guess it would have been ok to kill the hawk that got loose during the Heat/Hawks playoff game too?

I can't believe you're being serious here. There was nothing about amusement there. The bat interrupted the game, no one was available to deal with it, and there was a potential danger to the players

The Hawk is a TRAINED animal. What was the Hawk gonna do? If it was a wild hawk that was attacking players to hell with 'em.

They're gonna call the game off to bring in a bat catcher?

I'm betting most who are complaining didn't watch the game. The bat interrupted the game twice. What was the NBA supposed to do? Cancel the game?

Bats suck blood, Hawks don't.

Heh, only a couple of species of bats suck blood; none commonly in the United States, and they tend to prefer easier targets like sleeping cows, anyway. The majority just eat insects or fruit.

Kind of feel bad for the bat. It was forced into an unpleasant environment, likely as a Halloween prank, and killed. I'm not saying Manu was in the wrong, but sucks for the bat.

Also, reminded me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1dxNsjYeIs
