What amazes me most about MJ is his career FG%. Look at the comparisons.

Lebron 47%
Kobe 45%
Durant 46%
Jordan 49.7% Wow!

Iverson 42.5%

In the playoffs MJ has the scoring records while Wilt has the season scoring records.

Yeah, he did. He scored under 30 three times, twice in the regular season and once in the playoffs—all three games were against Russell.

And if it said Jordan was first with 40, that's BS. Wilt didn't score less than 26 in 1961-62 in the regular season, so the record would be 80. Including the postseason, it'd be 91.

Not that I doubt that Wilt is first, but where are you getting this info from? That's pretty detailed box score information that, by most accounts, doesn't exist for games back then.

...

Me, I've done decades of research, combing through newspaper articles, microfilm, and whatever other sources I could get my hands on, and am a member of the Association for Professional Basketball Research. But while I had to do things the hard way, now the information is much more easily available to those who care to know, or who would divert even a fraction of the time they devote to other players toward learning more about other great players who have played this game. But for you to ask how you could get the information tells me that you haven't even read this thread. Perhaps you didn't mean anything by it, and perhaps it's not fair of me to take it out on you, since this is a general peeve of mine which I just talked about in the real world at the beginning of the week and not directed to you in particular, so I'll apologize in advance, but the "maybe you missed the part where I asked where you're getting the info from" comment just irked me. Go back to the first page of this thread and read the posts.

That is a disingenuous statement to make. LeBron and Kobe are okay, but then you throw in past players such as Jordan and Wilt when you didn't always have all these players coming into the league as young as Kobe and LeBron did. Wilt and Elvin Hayes, for instance, led the league in scoring in year one, but they didn't come into the league at 19. So all these "youngest to" records have to be keep in context.

To be fair, it's not just you, as the guy who posted it (he came up with the information independently; I never saw that particular link until yesterday) said he didn't think Wilt ever went under 30 that season, and I had to correct him even though he had access to the game logs—having posted them—and could have verified it himself.

I hope the Lakers can sign Durant when his contract is up, then freeze him like Han Solo until Kobe retires several years from now.

Odd. What statistics did I make up? Did Wilt Chamberlain not average 50.4 a game in the 1961-62 season, or is this merely a figment of my imagination which I've promulgated to the masses who now accept it as fact?

Well done Kevin Durant, you have been playing really great (except for the 8 turnovers today).

He had 28 pts early in the season and 26 pts late in the season, but it's Wilt's numbers were still ridiculous.

2 years from now Durant will probably be the best player in the game. I still think he will put up Larry Bird-like numbers in rebounds and assists in his prime with even better scoring numbers. The kid works hard as hell and seems to improve something every season.

He is the most underrated player in the league hands down... Night in and night out a baller. As soon as he learns to take care of the ball its over. He will be better than Lebron.
