Rudy has improved a lot, and I'm very impressed with his play this season. Having said that I'd take Bynum because he's a true center, and those are much more difficult to get.

On the Raptors, we need a shooting guard, so I'll take Rudy Gay, but I think Andrew Bynum is the better player, and as mentioned above, centers like him are hard to get.

I think it all comes down to what your team needs.

Gay's offensive game has improved by leaps and bounds over the past couple years. He's got the potential to be a lock down defender as well. Think Ron Artest without the psycho qualities. That in itself is scary to think about.

Then you have Bynum who's shown he can be a force right now on the defensive end but is still relatively raw on the offensive end. He's a good shot blocker and a very good rebounder at this point.

If I have an established guy in the pivot I'm going with Gay. If I have an established guy on the wing I'm going with Bynum.

Out of curiosity, Bynum or Yi?

My homerism wants me to take Yi, but logic points to Bynum. That certainly could change within the next couple of years though.

Bynum is a rare breed. How many 2-way, 7 foot, 285+ centers exist in this league?

Gay is great and all but swingmen like him are plentiful. A kid like Bynum with his size/potential/skill level only come around once every 5 years.

Don't get me wrong I Rudy Gay is a great player, but his potential doesn't hold a candle to the potential that Bynum has.

Bynum is obviously the better rebounder and shot blocker. Amazingly, he is just as good of a passser and he is a CENTER.

Gay obviously has the scoring edge right now, but in a couple of years Bynum will pass him, unless Rudy becomes a 26+ ppg scorer (which by all means is possible).

You could argue who has more of an impact right now, by next year it won't even be a question in my opinion.

Bulls would take Bynum, but I think Rudy will have a superstar like career.

 the name of the thread made me laugh out loud. Idk if it was on purpose or not, but it read as Gay or Bi curious...maybe I'm just slow

Also, Bynum

I feel the answer is Bynum as well, but Gay could be special, not some dime a dozen swingman, lock down D with an offensive game too.

Bynum because young bigs with that much potential are rare.

Exactly, hahaha. Are you GAY or BY.... (num) Curious?

I'd go with Bynum, I for some reason am not wholly impressed with Gay.

I believe Rudy Gay will be a very special scorer in this league. IMO he'll be a better player than Bynum, all things considered. That said, I'd take Bynum in almost every scenario because, as people have said before me, athletic, scoring 3's are much easier to find than solid 7-footers.
