why u guys giving raja bell no defensive love?? he wasnt like larry hughes where he was selected to first team all-defense cause he led the league in steals. the guy actually guars every teams best perimeter players and he does a very fine job. he is an elite group with bruce bowen and ron artest imo as guys that are the best perimeter defenders. tayshaun prince belongs there too tho...

You're right. The Pistons are not the best starting five in the NBA.

By the way, what do the "Best Starting Five In The NBA" rings and trophy look like?

I would get into this debate but I'm watching Deron Williams lighting up Mr. Elite Defender at the moment.

I'd much rather have the pistons have a top three starting lineup and the best bench in the eastern conference then the best starting lineup

Charles is wrong. Denver doesn't play defense like Detroit and their back court is too small to guard anyone.

If the Nuggets can play to the sum of the individual parts, they would be one of the scarriest teams in the league. Not sure if it's chemisty or coach, but I certainly think the individual parts of Denver is better than the individuial parts of Detroit.

As a Mav fan, Denver is one of only 3 teams that scare me; the other two being the Jazz and the Suns. No, I'm not forgetting the Pistons, the Warriors, or the Spurs; they don't scare me at all. We have not faced the new look Celtics yet, so I have to wait and see with them.

Where is all this extra Prince love coming from? Hill's currently the better player.

As a Mavs fan, you should know that this title belongs to Bruce Bowen. He reduced freaking Lebron James (yes, that guy who single handedly torched the Pistons) to a pile of rubble in the NBA Finals.

yeah...unless bowen doesnt show in the playoffs, that he isnt the best wing-defender anymore, he should keep this title (+ the title of the best PG-defender)

The Jazz have a very good starting five with great potential, but I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say that it's better (or as good) as that of the Pistons. They can be scary good offensively, but they don't have the experience, chemistry or defense to match the Pistons. Still, you shouldn't get too hung up on their record; with Okur starting to show signs of returning to form, the Jazz's starting five can be one of the very best in the league (provided that AK gets healthy) and with Korver aboard to add outside shooting and scoring punch off of the bench, they can get back to being a very good team (again, provided that AK gets healthy.)
