Pathetic. I haven't been this mad at a non-suspension since Draymond-Adams. The NBA is extremely short-sighted on things like this. It would be way better for the league to have 0 tolerance for this type of crap than say "oh its the playoffs." Next time a player throws something I hope they throw it at Silver's wife instead of the other players/refs.

Maybe then he'll give a ****.

League has just told everyone is ok to throw thinghs at refs, now if someone else does it or a lesser offense that throwing stuff at a ref and the nba suspends him they will look really damn bad

I'd probably prefer it thrown at him if anything tbh. Not sure his wife did anything wrong

Is wild how bad of a position nba put themselves here for no real reason (trying to prolong a series that may end in 5 or 6 for minny anyway?)

If someone just does the same thingh as murray from now on league will be in a really awkward spot for suspending him and explaining why not to murray too

I love the NBA and love pro-sports. But the culture in pro-sports is a good example of how rule enforcement is different if you're in the 99.9th percentile for what you do.

Kerr's first instinct when seeing Dray sucker punch Poole was to get the whistle blower fired. Silver made clear the actual view of the people running the league is if you're an elite talent you can physically abuse referees and still play.

Just very ugly. I suppose I'm part of the problem because I'll still watch. At the same time I doubt there is 1 fan who wouldn't game 3 if Murray was suspended. Heck I think for a playoff game you could suspend Jokic and people would watch. Just very annoying.

It seems inevitable a player is going to bump a referee. At every turn, from Gobert accusing refs of fixing games to Howard's kiss and now Murray throwing stuff at refs the NBA is sending a clear message. You can abuse our refs and we will not punish the team. Because suspensions are the only way teams will get players to stop doing this.

I'm pretty much always anti-suspension (not just when Draymond is involved!) but kinda surprised a fine is all that's gonna happen here. Should have probably just tossed Murray from the game last night and we could all move on

Who the hell throws something onto the court like if a fan did that they would probably get a lifetime ban lol

The crazy part is this was not even a semi controversial suspension, even denver fans agreed it deserved suspension

The league put themselves in such a controversial position for i dont even know what

Blatant series extending is the only explanation lol

If a non-star does it he will be suspended, maybe even for multiple games. But the NBA is is the league of double standards.

The league has found it's new Jordan. Not suspending Jamal is unserious

Didn't Steph Curry chuck his used mouthpiece at a fan and hit them in like, a Finals game? And didn't he not get suspended? Considering this league's history and sensitivity to fan/player interactions (Malice at the Palace), you'd think they would come down hard on the offender, yet they did not. Isn't this similar enough that that precedent comes into effect?

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but that's the closest semi-recent example I can think of.

Steph was ejected from that game (game 6 of the 2016 Finals), if Murray had been ejected and there were no suspension I would be more understanding.

That would've been some stones to suspend Steph for Game 7 of the Finals.

Though wasn't Steph ejected and *then* threw his mouthpiece in response to his ejection?

I believe he fouled out, threw the mouth piece, and was then ejected

Yup. Health is the only thing as their depth is bad but they should be clear favorites at this point, especially because Minnesota/Denver/OKC/Dallas all play each other.

OKC's core of SGA/JDub/Chet is incredibly intriguing now and in the future. They fit seamlessly together.

I don't buy that their depth is bad compared to other title contenders. Al Horford, Payton Pritchard, and Sam Hauser is a pretty solid bench. There's a reason they breezed their way to 60+ wins despite not being particularly healthy
