2013 Kobe vs 2024 LeBron on Offense?

Kind a wild that Kobe was 5th in MVP voting that year, I think Lebron is pretty clearly better this year but I would be shocked if he finishes anywhere near 5th in MVP voting, even 10th would be a surprise the way people talk about him.

Lebron will be lower than Davis in MVP voting. That’s probably why.

Why wouldn't you compare them?

Statistically they are similar.

LBJ: 5.4 OBPM, 128.4 TS+, 31.6 FTR, 37% AST%, 14% TOV%
Kobe: 4.7 OBPM, 133.1 TS+, 39.2 FTR, 30% AST%, 13% TOV%

There is no reason to compare LeBron and Kobe at the same age--that isn't a fair comparison.

It came up in a completely obscure discussion with a friend (where neither of us felt really strongly on the subject anyways); Am more than aware of these age-based nuances among others - where I also see it as apples vs oranges but an interesting comparison, as Colbinii pointed out.

Fwiw, this thread was much more seriously intentioned than Wade/Shai or LBJ/Stockton.
