Better overall career?(assuming Kawhi remains a shell of his former self in years to come)

D Wade because he's actually a leader. Kawhi was lucky to play with some teams like Spurs and Raptors that had a winning culture already before he got there.

It is a great question because I think Dwyane gets a generous legacy bump by people usually so is slightly overrated, while Kawhi has a really interesting career. It just seems silly for a guard with only two All-NBA 1st teams to be in the top 30 all-time in this day and age with Jokic/Giannis etc. taking up more spots.

I'll still probably go with Wade because of how good he was in 06 and 09 due to Kawhi's injuries holding him back

I think the answer is Wade, but it’s not far off. Both guys led a team to a title as the best player, also won on a team where they weren’t the best, and had injury issues that has hurt their longevity. I think Wade has had a better career (primarily because his longevity was meaningfully better), but I think at their peak and healthy Kawhi was probably the slightly better player.

I agree that healthy Kawhi has a slight edge on Wade, but though Wade was no ironman, you could count on him a lot more than you could ever count on Kawhi Leonard. It's a shame, I'd have loved to see a healthy decade of Kawhi but unfortunately, that's not what happened.

Wade by a little i think but it’s close. Peak 06 Wade and peak 19 Kawhi are fairly even / comparable. Give Wade the edge due to slightly better availability / durability.

Kawhi peak is certainly better.

09 Wade is his peak I think and 09 Wade > 19 Kawhi
