both were great in their prime but started to decline because of injuries. who would you rather take on your team?

I'd take Mashburn, haven't seen either guy play in a long time but I believe Mashburn was a lot more versatile.

If we're assuming health, you go with Monster Mash.

Big Dog was a shooter, a very good rebounder and a solid passer but Mash was a lot better, especially as a passer. He even peaked higher as a scorer.

If you have to account for health, then it's easily Robinson.

I think Tsherkin said it, Mash had more talent but couldn't stay healthy . . . tell the truth though, I'd rather have neither. both took up more cap space and shots than their value on the court justified; I'd trade either of them even at peak pretty easily.

QFT; given their relative value, I might have gone for a prime Glen Rice instead, or someone like that.

in mashburns best season is averaged 20 points 8 rebounds 5 assists and 1 steal. thats pretty damn good.

Yeah, before he even played a single NBA game.

His rookie contract was supposed to be $100 Million over 13 years. But then was later changed to a 10 year deal worth $68 million.

Both men had similar careers, but I think Mash gets a slight nod.

i believe he was holding out for a 100 M contract, but eventually settled for 68 million, as a rookie... he's the reason why 1st round rookie contracts eventually became fixed.

I take mash btw...

I'd take Mashburn, I guess. Most Hornets fans aren't too fond of him anymore though, but when he was at his best with the Hornets he was pretty damn good and made them legit EC contenders.

I disliked Robinson as a Bucks fan but I'll take him over Mashburn. Robinson had a much better career and it's really not close given the amount of games played as well as efficiency. Mashburn had Robinson in terms of passing and SLIGHTLY with three point shooting. Robinson was statistically superior in nearly every other category throughout the longevity of their careers. Both were bad defenders so that's not something that could put a guy like Mashburn over the top.
