Josh Howard or Devin Harris?

OK guys, plain and simple, who do you think is more important for Dallas? Josh Howard or Devin Harris?

This thread is based off a thread on the trade board where JES12 said that Harris > Josh in terms of importance to the team which I feel is bollocks. Now I would be much obliged if you guys could settle this as unbiased people.

Howard easily. And could you ask him nicely to miss a shot sometime tonight against the Magic? He is going nuts.

Every team has one guy a night that has the game of his life against us. Usually it's Danny Granger.

Like I said that thread, Howard just impacts the game more than Harris.

He's played very well since becoming a starter. He went for 19 the other night at Indy.

I like Harris, but you got to give it to Howard.

How are you going to post a "who's more important to the mavs" thread to 29 teams that know very little about the Mavs? More people here thinks whoever makes the all-star game is better.

Then on top of that, you do it at a time where Devin isn't even playing, so if they flip on their TV right now, all they see is Howard a no Harris?

Simply put, we can win without Howard and the only way we win without Harris is if everyone is hitting their jumpers like tonight! How many luck up shots did he have tonight?

Because there are many people like me who happen to follow more than one if not most NBA teams. Howard is the better player and is more important to the Mavs, period.

Dallas without Howard: 2-1
Dallas without Harris 4-4 (that's including tonights, which is the most recent game in everybody's mind where Devin did not even have a chance for them to watch Harris and Howard is coming off one of the VERY FEW GAMES HE DECIDED TO APPEAR IN THE 2ND HALF!!!!!!!!!!!) And we only won that one because everyone was actually making their jumpshots. Howard SETTLES for the jumpshot whereas Harris takes it to them.

To say this least, this thread is going to be skewed off popularity, not importance AND by the mere fact that people remember the most recnt games.

One player is an allstar level player... another isn't.

The question isn't who is better compared to players at the same position, the question is who is more important to the team.

As for the position, I admit Howard is better compared to the peers. Howard is the 3rd best SF accoring to Hollinger (behind Lebron and Butler) and Harris is the 9th best PG in the league. Analysts other than Hollinger have simlialr rankings.

The question is, who is more important to the Mavs team.

Devin Harris is EXTREMELY overrated on RealGM..I've never thought he was a good player, and my team sees Dallas more than the majority of the NBA, so I've seen him play a lot of games in the past few years..

I actually believe Josh Howard can hurt my team when we play Dallas..Harris? I don't even realize when he's on the bench or on the floor half the time..

Is that why Parker fears Harris? Harris is seriously in Parker's head and parker struggles against Harris!!!! How can you sit there and say you don't even notice him?
