Part of it is poor technique, part of it is just not being strong enough yet, but I think the biggest reason is that he is just too passive. I've watched plenty of Beasley and he is all too happy to run back to the offensive end if there is another teammate there to grab the board for him. An attitude like that will never grab 10 boards a night.

However, there were similar concerns last season regarding going up strong around the basket and he's already matched his dunk total from last year so that is a good sign. Now it just needs to be carried over to the rebounding aspect of his game.

Another reason is that he is 6'7" and is a tweener.

He is not a tweener. He was tried out at SF and it didn't work out because he is not a SF, he is a PF plain and simple. And since when do we judge NBA players heights by their barefoot measurements? Do NBA players play without shoes? No, so why even bring that up?

Actually Beasley is 6'10, he isn't a tweener he is a legit PF, the SF project is over he is getting most of his minutes at PF now. Nice try though

Nah, Beasley's not 6'10", he's just under 6'9"

and that's very irrelevant to the fact that he's better than Gallinari though.

Beasley's being critiqued in wins, Gallinari's being celebrated in losses...the expectations are clearly different

Critiqued in wins? LOL. Beasley is being critiqued more on whether or not he can keep his head straight for a full season more than anything else.

...you might be the only person on earth that actually believes Beasley is 6'10. You probably believe Ben Wallace is 6'9 as well

Give Gallo Wade and have Beas without Wade and we would see a big difference.

Would we not?

Gallo is going to be the better player simply because of his high basketball IQ,which Beas has none of.

Gallo has been pro since he was 16 and was the leader and go to scorer at the age of 18,that is because of his high basketball IQ

Meanwhile Beas at that age was getting drunk and turning into an alcoholic. And you guys think a month of rehab undid all that then you are kidding yourselfs. You also believe those pictures taking of him passed out with all them bottles around him wasnt his fault, right?

The fact is he is such a jerk that people around him wanted to get him in trouble and be seen for the real person he is,people that have ties to the Heat franchise.Sad if you really think about it.

OK, let me try. He's not a tweener.

He was tried at small forward in order to get the Heat's best players on the floor together at the same time. It didn't work. His first, best position is power forward. His height is irrelevant. He's completely effective at the position and not even you can deny that.

He's listed at 6'10". Even if he's 6'9" by NBA standards, that puts him in a class with guys like Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, David West, Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Udonis Haslem, Al Harrington, and Josh Smith, all of whom are listed at 6'9" or below and all of whom have been or currently are very good power forwards in this league.

Another thing to consider is that Beasley was 19 years old when he was measured. A lot of times, men grow beyond their 19th year. Personally, I didn't stop growing until I hit 21...

You're acting hurt

Chucking 3s takes a real high iq.

It's really funny that you seem to "know" more about Beasley's supposed problems than the Heat.

Beasley has NEVER tested positive for any drug. He was in a room where weed was being smoked and HE came forward to the Heat afterward. If he kept his mouth shut, it would have been a non issue and there would have been no rehab.

Beasley's an effective scorer with or without Wade, and would be the best offensive player in New York...just in case you didn't know.

lol @ alcoholic...yep...hurt

Yeah Im hurt...LMAO yeah thats it.

I forgot about the pictures of weed he had taken, his own friends are letting these pictures out.You know this right? He must be a real jerk that his own peps sold him out.

DENIAL ever heard of the word?Well thats what you are in,how can the number 2 pick in the draft have drug problems.Dont worry its not the first time it has happened and not the last.Thats why Riley didnt want to draft him.And he couldnt have drafted Gallo like McHale wanted to because he would of stayed overseas unless NY or NJ drafted him.

You are in Denial son!!!

Some NY fans can''t comprehend Gallinari isn't on anyone's radar but their's. it's okay, believe me, nobody is envious of Gallinari and a Heat fan would have never even CONSIDERED this comparison, so who's feeling inferior?

OMG he played good against the Spurs..he's better than Beasley

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewOb34WzY5c

TRY AGAIN. You can try to magnify these supposed "issues" all you want. Beasley's currently the better scorer, rebounder and defender. None of your soap opera/TMZ driven "analysis" is relevant.

We'll let Gallos game, and career, do the talking.

Honestly everyone just let this thread die. Its just a bunch of homers crying now.

Oh and Beasley being even 6'9 is hilarious, let alone 6 friggin 10. Guy is a tweener through and through.
