D'Lo has minimal value. He is likely going to pick up his extension and will just be used as salary filler.
Rui is a good player but is too similar to other players already on the roster.
So that leaves us with Reaves and 2 picks for Trae, which I don't think gets Atlanta to bite. Maybe Murray but not Trae.

I could see a deal built around Hachimura/picks -for- Murray. It frees up minutes for Bufkin and adds some desperately needed forward depth.

The new apron rules could make that kind of maneuvering difficult for the Lakers, though.

Can someone try and explain to me what the appeal of Cam Johnson is? He is 28, plays in under 70% of games, decent 3p shooter but not a great shooter overall, averageish defender, and makes 23 million a year.

He is in the Tobias Harris mold - decent but always overpaid (minus the missing games)?

Why do you think the preference is to keep Murray?
He's not a player you build your franchise around.
He's a very good complimentary piece.

Who should the Hawks target with the $23 million TPE (JC trade expires July 8th) and the $12.8 million MLE?

[Reminder: the TPE can be broken up into several players. Also New CBA now allows fir the MLE to be used to trade for a player]

I doubt we target anyone with the TPE and will probably just let it expire. Ressler isn't going to want to fork over that money.

It doesn't need to be ONE player making $23 million. It can be 1 player making say $13 million, then use the balance in smaller trades as well. [Example: we traded for Bey $2 mil using the balance of the Huerter TPE].
