That's really refreshing to hear after the debacle that Ja and his dad have become...

(I hope that when Miami gets Indy in the playoffs and inevitably puts the clamps on that squad, that the critics don't turn against TH they way they've turned against TY.)

Which rookies have impressed you?

Have any of you been watching Brandon Miller at all?

This is how Lakers stopped Indy in the Tournament Championship Game. Pretty basic stuff, similar to what Miami did to us in Summer 2022.

  • Trap Tyrese in the Pick-and-Roll
  • Pickup the ballhandler full length of the court to slow fastbreak opportunities
  • Form a wall with ,multiple defenders to prevent dribble penetration and rotate backline of the defense to cutoff lobs/kickouts

Easier to do with elite big man defender like Anthony Davis and a basketball genius like LeBron. And Carlisle and Pacers have the personnel to adjust and overcome this. But this is the blueprint on how to stop them.

Refs seem to be quite trigger happy this season, Tatum, Giannis, Trae, Hunter, Klay and now Jokic...

That's a pretty classless thing for Indiana to do. I can't imagine Rick Carlisle or ownership is going to be pleased with this as a storyline making the rounds.

The fact that they were in Milwaukee makes it even more disappointing.

Giannis scored a career high 64 points last night against the Pacers. He had 34 free throw attempts and he made 24 of them.

John Collins on the trade block?

Perhaps the biggest surprise on the trade block is new power forward acquisition John Collins, the source said. The 26-year-old has the lowest on-court/off-court splits of any rotation player on the team, and the team has been frustrated with his slow uptake on learning the Jazz’s system on both ends of the floor. Collins has been a solid shooter and rebounder this season, but hasn’t contributed as much elsewhere. – via Salt Lake Tribune

I look forward to seeing what return Danny gets.

I have a question for those of you who watch/follow more NBA basketball than I do.

Seems like Hawks players that are integral parts of the our team/franchise, leave Atlanta and almost immediately become NBA vagabonds.

From John Collins to Cam Reddish to Taurean Prince to Jeff Teague to Dennis Schroeder to Kent Bazemore and even Josh Smith. All these guys played serious minutes for the Hawks and most were long term starters. Then they left the franchise and just bounced around the league coming off the bench before fading to into NBA oblivion.

Is this normal?

To have so many rotation guys turn out to be barely league average players once they leave the franchise?

If they leave the Hawks which is ok sometimes, I wouldn't want the Hawks to blow it and someone become an all-star, but I'd like them to stick around some way. I just don't want a Hawk pick to become Childress, Law or Sheldon to be out of the league by year 6 or 7
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Yes, the turnaround in the league is very high, but you're correct, not much talent is provided by the Hawks.

Right now, I believe we have talent, but the frontcourt evolving has been slow.
