Well you got a rotational guy, and none of the kids are gone . Folks were over Justin, even if still if he wasn't playing anymore.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Bey has the desired build and length for NBA play at 6’8” and 216 pounds. This plus a 6’11” wingspan allows him to play a variety of positions as a forward or even a big wing. Bey has good strength and balance as well, allowing for some decent post play and post up defense against certain favorable matchups.

Still, the aspect that draws the wandering eyes of NBA scouts is his outside shot. Bey is an elite shooter from deep, with one easy motion on his windup and release and a lot of lift from his lower body. His ability to shoot off the catch and space the floor is something that every NBA team desires. With the ability to play the four while stretching the floor, he can drag big men out of the paint to cover a lethal shooter from deep. On 123 catch-and-shoot opportunities this season, he recorded a 1.46 PPP — points per possession according to Synergy. His lightning quick release and undying confidence to let shots fly will scare defenses into bend their scheme toward the former Villanova Wildcat.

Certainly happy to have Bey, hoping not for the desirable 2nds in this 2023 draft tho as I see it as being very fruitful compared to usual drafts. He's certainly qualified to backup Hunter, not sure he can get past his inefficiency with this system and staff.

The Warriors have acquired Gary Payton II in exchange for the recently acquired Kevin Knox and five second-round picks, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

After getting a nice contract from Portland, GP2 will head back to the Warriors and try and help them repeat as champions. For some reason, the Blazers refuse to trade Damian Lillard while simultaneously giving him as little help as possible. Payton should see a larger role with Stephen Curry out through the All-Star break, and he should be a decent source of steals.

5 second rounders for GPJ. I'm happy with Bey over GPJ any day.

He's at his best when he can just camp out somewhere, get the ball, and shoot. Hopefully he chooses to do that now that he is playing with more refined playmakers. Also, the attention that Trae Young draws should allow Bey more wide open shots. I expect his 3pt% to improve.

I saw some people on the general board call him a 3 & D. He is not. He just shoots threes. He's not horrendous on D, but he's not average either. Positionwise, he has played power forward in spot minutes, but he shouldn't. He gets bullied. He's best on the wing.

He'll fit fine standing in the corner with the McMillian offense if that's the case. I hate that he can't finish well at the basket, but if he did he likely wouldn't be had for 2nd rounders/Wiseman.

I see him as the backup for Hunter during the final stretch which was a huge need. His best pgs were Joseph and Hayes... so I agree he will get a huge amount of quality looks with the Hawks current guards.

On one hand, five 2nd round picks are alot, but on the other hand, the Hawks' front office is way too incompetent to ever find talent in the 2nd round. Just a few years ago, i wanted Charles Bassey but the Hawks took Cooper, who i never liked. Before that I wanted Bol Bol but took a nobody in Didi. If the Hawks kept the 5 picks, it would have just resulted in five guys would just be playing in the Gleague and barely get any time in the NBA.

This has been true but remember, the front office of the current Hawk team are all rookies. Some worried that they would give away the team when they got to the trading deadline. Didn't happen. Saddiq Bey trade is in limbo until the end of the day.

The other deal: Hawks traded away two players who never played for two that might or might not. They did this to get under the payroll tax. This trade works well. Saddiq Bey trade is good if it goes through. I hope it does.

After Payton arrived in a Thursday trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, a physical revealed that he would be out for a significant part of the remaining season, sources said. The Warriors have shared with the league office that they believe Portland withheld relevant medical information prior to agreeing on the trade, sources said.

The trade can't be amended or changed because the league's trade deadline passed on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.

The NBA could punish Portland with a fine and loss of draft picks if an investigation were to discover "a failure to disclose relevant information" on Payton's abdominal injury that required offseason surgery and had him miss the first 35 games of the season.

The Warriors believe they should've been told that Payton had been using Toradol shots to alleviate pain, sources said, something that's more typically done for players in the playoffs rather than the regular season.

Just think: Warriors were so ready to move from their former #2 pick that they would rather have a 30 year old, injured, undrafted backup guard who just left the team in Free Agency rather than keep Wiseman on the roster.

WOW!!!
