This Postseason a Missed Opportunity for the Hawks

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Fri May 3, 2024 1:53 pm

Man, seeing a talent deprived Knicks team and an inexperienced Pacers squad showdown next week for a spot in the Easter Conference Finals, I can't help but think that - when healthy - we're better than both of those squads.

Even with our flawed roster.

IDK what the overarching reason we underperformed so much is. But had we made the playoffs as the 6th or 7th seed...I believe we would be on our way to another Conf Finals.

Pacers stole our formula...our trade target...our playoff seeding luck.

Lack of depth in the front court. Having to start the Mat(t)hews for an extended period of games is a non starter for winning.

I believe we can add Quin to this list...

He was hired like 10 weeks before the rest of these guys.

Hmmm, not sure about this. We already saw how horrible this team can be in playoffs when pairing Trae and Murray, even if it was BOS, it was a disaster with both on the floor at the same time, and as Quin let them play 40min a game if they want too... it doesn't help

I'd take a healthy lineup of Trae/Bogdan/Jalen Johnson/Okongwu over 90% of Eastern Conference Teams.

For sure, but we know that they would have played Trae and Murray and gave them 45 shots.

That's the big problem. It's like Klutch Sports are coaching, not Quin
