Warriors in need of reserve point guard

The Golden State Warriors, once again, are in need of a reserve point guard now that they've learned Troy Hudson is possibly out for the season after unavoidable hip surgery.

We probably can't get much but they do have a trade exception which means we don't have to get complicated on matching salary.

Likely all we get is Croshere or POB for Lue.

To be honest he's rather useless. I also don't think Solomon is going to mount to anything due to his low basketball IQ. When he's on the court he looks confused as if he can't handle the big stage. Solomon can change this but at this point there is a reason why he's keeping the bench warm.

For every block or rebound D.J. has accumulated he's fouled someone twice as much. He's a train wreck and I would try to develop Solomon Jones before putting him to the curb for DJ.

to maybe option Solomon there for PT and maybe sign a guy like Mbenga

Not anymore

Warriors signed a player from D-League who is averaging 26 points per game & scored 42 in his last game.

His name is CJ Watson & he originally went to Tennessee.

Don Nelson's last D-League find was Azubuike. I wonder if anyone is scouting the D-League except Nelson

Nelson claims to have not seen the guy play.

It's too early to start hyping Watson. For every Kelenna there is a Will Bynum and Anthony Roberson.

The Warriors have someone scouting the D-league not Nelson himself. And signing a guy to a 10 day contract to see what he can do is common. We did it several times last year. Remember Jeremy Richardson. The question is whether Watson will actually get some PT before his 10 days are up. Although I believe you can be signed to several 10 day contracts before having to make a rest of season decision on a player. The Spurs routinely promote d-leaguers for short stints.

I scanned the d-league stats earlier tonight looking for a 3 pt shooter, but we can't add anyone without waiving someone because we didn't leave a roster spot open. I'm not sure how it works, but I don't think that sending Solomon to the D-league opens up a spot here it just gives him a chance to getting PT. If it does open up a spot we should do it in a heartbeat.

Demarr Johnson, 6'9" 27 yr old swingman who used to play here shooting 41% form 3 pt range. Recently released by Spurs.
Kaniel Dickens, 6'8" swingman 29 yrs old, 22 ppg, 47% on 3 pointers.
Gabe Muoneke, 6'7" swingman about to turn 30 26 ppg 47% on 3 pointers

Rod Benson, 6'10 F-C 23 yr old, 14 ppg 13 rpg Leads d-league in rebounding.

Randy Livingston, 6'4 PG, 13.5 apg. 32 years old journeyman. short stints with 9 different NBA teams including Atlanta in 97-98 for 12 games.

I'm a fan of giving Rod Benson a shot to see if he can provide some of the stuff that Zaza and Sheldon should be providing off the bench. The rest of the list are older players who have bounced around, but could augment our team in stints.
