The mind-boggling criticism of Tatum reminds me of the exact same thing about Pierce 16-17 years ago. We old timers remember. Even with the cold hard numbers in front of them, people insist! Un-freaking-believable.

I remember those days when Paul Pierce was not even recognized by some as a superstar player.

It's also true that it's a 2-way street, one loss and some of the Celtic fans are in panic mode.

I’m getting old and I’m beyond tired seeing this team choke to lesser talented ones in the playoffs. The last 2 years they did. They have the most talented team on paper this year. There was nobody close to them in the regular season. If they don’t win it this year they are a disgrace to their Celtics forebears.

I get that about the rah-rah because what you're saying is true.

It's the unreal expectations that becomes an issue.

Here's the thing, the Celtic coach is bad, according to some, the Celtics can't execute in the clutch, and Tatum is not consistent, not mentally tough, not an alpha etc.

But those same folks expect the Cs to win a championship with all those flaws.

How in the world will a team with a bad coach, can't execute in the clutch, and a flawed superstar win a championship?

KD with another stupid decision.

I agree with that but at the same time, its time for us to win banner 18, and if its not getting done with Tatum and Brown maybe its time to make some major changes. This is the easiest path to the finals and for them to win banner 18, but they showed during the regular season that they dont have mental toughness. Every time they faced an elite team, they got spanked.

I do believe Joe Mazzulla will be the first piece to get cut if they dont win championship.

Saying it's time for us to win Banner 18 doesn't mean we will win Banner 18.

We can only hope for the best.

It's beyond our control.

If the Cs lose to Denver then so be it.

There are a lot of great players who didn't win a championship and there are still 10 NBA teams that have not won a championship.

The NBA is a cycle and it won't stop.

Will the end of the world come if the Cs fail to win this year?

After what happened last year against the heat, all the overreactions are warranted. Unexpected? Yes of course. They are playing minus their best player and confirmed celtic killer Jimmy buckets. We should have beaten them handily. That’s why you can’t let them hang around all game. They can get hot anytime from 3, and suddenly get a big lead, and we turn cold. That’s the heat’s strategy. Keep it close, or try to get a lead, and sneak out a win in the end.

This i agree. Even if JT chokes again, we will still support him next season, hoping he turns a corner. The expectation from him will be much much lower though.
