Late Game Offense Summary. Starting from just outside the 5 minute mark. Here we go.
Possession 1. Jaylen / Jrue pnr. Jrue springs free. Jaylen stops on a dime and has a wide open midrange jumper.

Possession 2. Jaylen / White pnr. Cavs have to pressure the ball because there's less than 5 left and a 7 point lead is actually pretty huge. Result is Jaylen springs free into massive amount of space.

The defense collapses. Maybe he could've gone to Tatum but they probably close that out. Horford bricks it but a GREAT scoring opportunity created nonetheless.

Next, Tatum / Brown pnr. Again they collapse on Tatum. Jrue wide open. Brick. White wide open. Brick. Two great scoring chances made.

Poss. 4. Tatum has acres of space after Tatum / Brown pnr which could've sprung Jaylen free into that space. Teams don't defend like this in the first 45 minutes. When the clock's running out, and you have the lead, the defense has to compromise itself. Gets a layup.

Poss. 5. Tatum / Jrue pnr. Again defended very tightly, springing Tatum free into space. Wide open shot missed.

After the offensive board, another Tatum / Brown pnr. Cavs again sending two 40 feet from the basket. Jaylen has driving lane he did not see in the entire game before the last five minutes.

Poss 6. The infamous Reggie Miller Move Possession. Tatum / Brown pnr. Jaylen rolls into acres of space but inexplicably decides to hunt for a foul.

Final meaningful offensive possession. Tatum / White pnr. Cavs again can't play this normally because they are down five. Wide open three for Jaylen.

Could not have asked for a better sequence of offensive possessions. We got one wide open shot after another. Missed three wide open corner threes, two layups, one wide open 10 foot midranger, one wide open 15 foot midranger.

If that was their defensive strategy, they executed poorly or could've done better imo. The 51.1% 3-pt attempt rate of the Cavs is their highest in the postseason and 9th highest including RS.

45 points given up on 48 shots. 153 points given up from the three on 154 attempts for the series.

Specifically commenting on Jrue saying they wanted to run them off the line and make them play in the paint. They really didn't.

Tatum was 2 for 3 on fadeaways in the 4th. 1 for 2 on wide open non-fadeaway midrange jumpers. 1 for 2 on layups. 0 for 1 on sidestep threes.

Also how blind is Bill Simmons if he can't recognize a high pnr.

Or shooting luck finally favored the good guys (mostly in the 2nd half).

Simmons is just a fan who got a break.

I don't even listen to him anymore.

Law of averages.

Cavs eventually returned to their normal selves in the 2nd half.

That was strong rebounding by the Celtics last night, offset somewhat by turnovers.

The Cavs strategy of running everyone off the three point line is neutralizing Hauser. A different defense would let him do his thing.

Pritchard is amazing on defense at that size. He's not even being targeted.

Jrue Holiday is quickly flipping around the meaning of "Playoff Jrue."

Kornet performed well, which let Al Horford play sane minutes. This is huge. On that note, Game 5 must be won for Horford's longer term regeneration.

The Celtics can't win the title without a certain tall Latvian. With him, they can. Half their late game options are taken away when he's out.

Celtics fans are stoically bearing up under another win.

Cavs don't have anyone who can take advantage of Pritchard so Joe can hide him on guys like Okoro and Niang. Donovan Mitchell or Caris Levert isn't going to back Pritchard down after a switch.
Someone like Steve Kerr can still take advantage of Pritchard without strong wing-scorers by involving Pritchard in actions but Bickerstaff has been content to just have Mitchell do his thing against our bigs.

I would like to see a few minutes to Queta next game.

He brings a different dimension to the team and can help slow the minutes of Al.

HE sets big screens, crashes the rim and is a great vertical spacer. Use him if the Cavs run small and just punish them. Easy baskets
