What did you get for odds? I put a $10 bet at 100:1 of the C's winning it all the day before the KG trade. If the C's win I pocket a cool $1000.

Heh, lucky bastard.

I put mine on just after the trade, and only on the C's winnin out east, so the odds were nowhere near that level.

Put 45 bucks on 5:1 odds (figured it was a pretty safe move at the time), u do the math.

lol You didn't take care of Duncan really. He still got his numbers and the majority of those games were close. If Ginobili would've shown up for more than 1 game that series would still be going. SA's problem was when Duncan and Parker were out of the game or doubled, Ginobili and Bowen wouldn't shoot the damn ball and when they did they missed.

In the Utah series Boozer was the guy who didn't show up, not DWill.

Allen and KG are both a hell of a lot better than Manu and Boozer. Pierce shouldn't have to do it by himself.

we won the series in 5 games. your team has played 20 games already in this postseason and lebron james and his crappy team almost beat your team!!! i mean man my team is better than the cavs, hawks or pistons.

I think people forget that Red built and drafted his own teams and then coached them to championships :) Phil doesnt do that.

who cares? basketball is not the same as it was 30 or 40 years ago. it is harder to win a championship now than it was in the past, phil is a better coach than Red ever was. Red was also an arrogant SOB, read this article....http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns

I think you are wrong in saying that it was easier to win back then due to the fact that there weren't as many teams so you probably played the top competition every week (expansions weakened the competition). You are right in saying that basketball is very different than it was back then, but coaching hasn't changed much in fact it has probably gotten easier since now even assistants have assistants. Red did it all by himself!

Red brought the talent to Boston. The Bulls could not get past the Pistons, and this includes Jackson's first year as coach. The Pistons were getting old, and the Celtics and Lakers were getting very old by this point. The circumstances for Jackson were very favorable. From books I've read, the Lakers could not get along at all until Jackson came on them. Do you think that had something to do with it? Auerbach was a GM and coach, while Jackson is just a coach. Auerbach 16 rings and Jackson 9. The two are just not comparable.
You're wrong about Phil's 1st year with the Bulls, recheck your facts. He won his title in his 1st year. I understand in your eye sight no 1 will ever be better than Red & I'm ok with that but Phil deserves his credit as well especially now coming back to a Laker team that really had nothing to offer except Kobe & they have worked themselves back into title contention. I agree our 2 teams were getting old @ the time of Phil's go around with the Bulls I make that argument all the time but that was not their fault. I really don't think Michael & the Bulls could have done anything with your 80's Celtics or my 80's Lakers no argument there but a good coach is a good coach, maybe Phil just doesn't want 2 be a GM

Haha Bill Russel was just one player, Red was responsible for all 16 Celtics championships, I dont know what you mean really, dumb post.
He was the centerpiece to all the Championships so really this was a dumb reply check the convo you'll see that it was about saying Red drafted all the players

The Lakers were also having big financial problems for a long part of their history. Russell was considered a risk. They got rid of a 5-time all star and a good prospect for Russell. Macauley would go on to help the Hawks win a Championship in two years. They took a risk and it paid off. I don't see anything wrong with it, and nothing I've read indicates there was any begging.
Yes that's a good reply but we're getting off the subject a little the purpose is he had 2 do what he had 2 do 2 get the player he wanted & it wasn't thru the draft. The point is defending Phil because you guys feel like he's less than Red just because he didn't do everything the same way. 9 rings is 9 rings I don't care how you slice it & dice it
