lol You didn't take care of Duncan really. He still got his numbers and the majority of those games were close. If Ginobili would've shown up for more than 1 game that series would still be going. SA's problem was when Duncan and Parker were out of the game or doubled, Ginobili and Bowen wouldn't shoot the damn ball and when they did they missed.
In the Utah series Boozer was the guy who didn't show up, not DWill.
Allen and KG are both a hell of a lot better than Manu and Boozer. Pierce shouldn't have to do it by himself.

You're wrong about Phil's 1st year with the Bulls, recheck your facts. He won his title in his 1st year. I understand in your eye sight no 1 will ever be better than Red & I'm ok with that but Phil deserves his credit as well especially now coming back to a Laker team that really had nothing to offer except Kobe & they have worked themselves back into title contention. I agree our 2 teams were getting old @ the time of Phil's go around with the Bulls I make that argument all the time but that was not their fault. Red brought the talent to Boston. The Bulls could not get past the Pistons, and this includes Jackson's first year as coach. The Pistons were getting old, and the Celtics and Lakers were getting very old by this point. The circumstances for Jackson were very favorable. From books I've read, the Lakers could not get along at all until Jackson came on them. Do you think that had something to do with it? Auerbach was a GM and coach, while Jackson is just a coach. Auerbach 16 rings and Jackson 9. The two are just not comparable.

The Lakers were also having big financial problems for a long part of their history. Russell was considered a risk. They got rid of a 5-time all star and a good prospect for Russell. Macauley would go on to help the Hawks win a Championship in two years. They took a risk and it paid off. I don't see anything wrong with it, and nothing I've read indicates there was any begging.
