Just three games but Sam/PP are holding up just fine.

A lot of players are better than JT, but we're expecting JT to win a championship for us.

If JT is once again 1st Team ALL-NBA this season then that means JT is better than Ant because no way Ant is making 1st team.

Look, i don’t have a problem if you say JT is better, that’s your opinion. and JT should get 1st team, because we are number 1, and he’s our best player. I just have ant man above him skill wise. For conversations sake, where do you rank JT with regards to the best players.
I have him around 7th. Jokic, embiid, luka, giannis, SGA, Edwards, then JT. Most have him around 5th-8th. Not bad at all.

I go by All-NBA Teams.

If JT is 1st team then he's top 5 this season.

Among the known votes, the 5th spot on the 1st team will be a coin flip between Tatum and Brunson. I feel like Tatum gets it, though. SGA tracking to be MVP runner-up to Jokic, but may go 3rd behind Luka fwiw.

Dude, just give me your ranking. Name the players. Don’t just say top 5. Rank him. Is he number 1 or number 5. Also, embiid is definitely better, and he’s disqualified from getting all nba.

This season he's number 5 to me.

I have him higher than Luka because Luka is just bad on defense.

Tatum is not better than Luka.

Without Butler, we are realistically playing a 28-30 win caliber team rn. A team we already lost to once at home.

For my money, we can't be impressive in the first two rounds, only unimpressive. We should win these games.

Butler makes them better for sure but they were 13-9 without him. 33-27 with him. Still a decent team.

Oh you're not wrong. That's one reason why things fell apart here when we lost game two. No reason for it to happen at all.

However, I'm sneaky hoping PP has a breakout next two months.

Nice win, but consistency is the bigger issue.

If this is still the same old team, they'll lay an egg in Game 4.

Not in my view. Winning one on a hot shooting night is tolerable enough, but it would be a pretty bad sign if they take us past 5 games.

If Edwards is a better scorer why isn't he better at putting the ball in the basket than Tatum ?

He’s already better. Better mid range. Better handles. Better at finishing at the rim, and finishing through contact.

Edwards is shooting 70.7% within 3 feet this season. Tatum has shot 73+% each of the last four years. So finishing at the rim is clearly advantage Tatum. Tatum has had a higher free throw rate every year they have been in the league so getting to the line is clearly advantage Tatum. Their career shooting percentages from 10-16 feet is virtually identical (38.4 vs 38.6%) but Tatum has a massive edge from 16 feet to the three point line (39.4 vs 33.2%) so Tatum is clearly better in the midrange. Edwards is better at getting punked in FIBA play though, I'll give him that.

Sorry need to bump this up lol.

Like what i’ve said, its not about accomplishments. If that’s the case, put Lebron in there, along with Steph. Sga haven’t got a single accomplishment, and yet he’s already top 3 in mvp convo this year. I’m talking about overall talent.

Tatum is still the better player, right now I would always pick Taum first, in a couple of years probably Ant will be better than him.

Tatum makes his teammates better, reads the game better, is no longer an ISO player but a player who will make the right decision at the right time.

I think Antman has already arrived! Just crazy on both ends of the floor. Sweeping a healthy KD, Booker and Beal.

Saying that Ant Man is already better than JT is an overreaction similar to what happened after the Cs lost Game 2.

Ant Man has only played a total of 14 playoff games so far.
That's not enough sample size to justify he's better than JT.

And how many All-NBA teams has Ant Man been on?

I mean, outside of the Nets sweep, has Tatum even had a series as good as the one Ant just had?

Milwaukee series in 2022.

Philly series last season, 2023.

Celtics would have gone home both those years if not for Tatum.

In 2022, Celtics were supposed to be done after Smart screwed up in Game 5 and the Celts were on the brink of elimination heading into Game 6 in Milwaukee.

And we all know what happened in that Philly series last year, right?

Lol. Tatum sucked in the philly series other than game 7. He just lucky he got hot in the right time game 6. Bucks series, he was erratic. Having a great game, then totally laying an egg on the next. It was frustrating to watch. He also choked in the finals bad.

Yeah, he sucked in the finals.

But in those series against the Bucks and Philly, the Cs needed to be saved from elimination and JT didn't disappoint.

Sometimes it's about showing up at the right time.

Making big time shots when you're on the brink of elimination is a mark of a big time superstar.

If he showed up early in the game, then we don’t need any saving. He scored his 4th and 5th point thru free throws in the 4th qrt already. I think he was like 1/13 entering the 4th that game, and 0/7 from 3. He was on the verge of a historical choke job. Good he recovered and saved that series. My point was, we shouldn’t be in that position in the 1st place, if he did his job early.

So what you are saying is, we would've won Game 6 that we won anyway if Tatum wasn't so poor in the first half? That's an interesting outlook and very characteristic of the usual Tatum critique.
