The Big 3 Celtics from 2008-2013 were a team that didn’t take care of business the way a good team should. They were so much more talented than all the competition (until the Gasol trade put Lakers in ball park) that there was no excuse for going to 7 games against Hawks and Cavs. They also blew so many 3-2 leads because they couldn’t close out a series when they had the edge.

The Tatum led Celtics have been similar in past seasons. Hopefully, Holiday can influence this team so that they crush weaker teams and end the first couple of rounds as quick as possible the way his Bucks used to.

Win your home games from here on out and you're champs. It's that simple. Hopefully they take that seriously.

I don't see us not winning a road game in any series so I feel like we'd have to lose at least twice at home to lose a series. We've won at least one road game in every series we played in the last two years and lost multiple home games to be eliminated

I think the Tatum Celtics have been the opposite, actually. 2018 obviously a huge overachievement. The 2020 team was starting Kemba who was out of the league in a couple of seasons, Theis who became a 3rd string immediately after leaving the Celtics for $$$, and gave significant minutes to Semi and Wanamaker, who both washed out as soon as they left Boston, not to mention Romeo. Came back 3-2 down in 2022, and came back from 3-2 down in 2nd round and then 3-0 down in the ECF to force a game 7 in 2023.

Shouldn't matter in the end but Tatum should win All-NBA 1st, JB might sneak in All-NBA 3rd, White and Holiday could land on All-Defense teams, Mazzulla will end up in top 3 CotY, and Brad should run away with EotY.

If you've been offline for a week you missed...

The Sixers beat the Heat and became the 7 seed, will play Knicks

Bulls beat Atlanta and will play Heat tonight for 8 seed.

But Butler is injured and out "several weeks" and Rozier is out too.

So we're getting either Bulls or depleted Heat in 1st round.

Aside from that we're pretty bored over here. Waiting for Sunday morning.

And speaking of old threads I don't even know how I came across this one earlier but it's kinda funny: viewtopic.php?p=34608887#p34608887

My “KO was a better pick than Giannis” take long after the draft was easily my worst take in a dozen years on and off here lol.

For us? It shouldn't be if this team is not messing around

Cs players/coaches better not listen to the noise, as positive as it has been. Everyone is penciling them for the Finals already. It just doesn’t work that way. They should’ve learned that by now.

Really depends how the Heat shooters perform. Bam is still going to be a huge issue for Porzingis and Horford.

We shut Bam down in 2023 playoffs and he averaged 18 on .526 TS% against us this season. I would say it is not impossible that Bam could cause a huge issue but "still going to be a huge issue" assumes he was previously a huge issue.

Celtics, 4 years ago:

None of these guys played in G1 of the 2024 playoffs. This is what Brad had to work with in 2020 and 2021 (no offense to one of my all-time favorite Celtic Marcus Smart and multiple All-Star Kemba). This is Jayson's "superteam".

LOVE LOVE THIS!

HISTORIC EXCELLENCE!

1950-1995!

Kevin, Chief, Danny, Cowens & Silas also should have participated!

Then just about every Celtic of consequence during the first 50 years of the NBA would have been there!

ZOYA & PARL,

How many of that group are in the HOF (counting the 5 I listed that missed it)? ALOT!

How many have passed away in the last 29 years? SADLY, ALOT.

PS I don’t think the Truth was in HS yet.
