JD has more bounce than Hauser.

He gets to the rim quickly, but that 3 point shot looks like he switches to half speed. Something to work on for sure.

Since when is 6'3'' tiny for a PG?

He has the tools to be a better defender but he isn’t in the same ballpark as a shooter.

“Davison's 28% turnover percentage will be the highest of any player drafted in the past decade.”

JD had a huge game vs a top 3 team in Gonzaga.

Doubt he’s even 6’1” in sneakers. So all of Pritchard haters saying HE is small will surely keep that same energy regarding Davidson right?!

I think it's a great pick for that point in the draft. He's a developmental guy with a very high ceiling. He needs some work but could be really good in the future.

I just watched his highlight reel. Never missed a shot. That's good, right?

According to the draft combine measurements, he was listed as 6'2.5 in shoes. 6'0.5 without shoes.

Seems like a player with a high ceiling. Like Brad's not trying to hit singles in the draft which is valid, right? Why posters are disappointed is totally understandable thought, considering there are still so many known players left. This was always going to happen after picking in this draft.

It's going to take some work for him to slow down and reduce the turnovers. The guy goes right to "11".

He reminds me a bit of Rob Williams. Don't be fooled by that slow southern drawl, this guy has a sharp mind for basketball, and like Rob it will take him a year or two but his athleticism and skills will carry him.

Here's a really cool interview with ESPN where they go over some tape:

Certainly is better than missing shots in the highlight reel.

I wonder what the hit rate on picks after 50 is? It can't be much higher than 1/100 that actually do anything at all in the NBA?

Davison is half an inch taller in shoes, has a 2 inch longer wingspan and 4 inch longer standing reach. Davison elso has a 44.5 inch vertical.

That's probably a little low, but the odds aren't great. I'm terrible at this stuff but found a couple articles that looks interesting.

According to this article about 20% of 2nd round picks stick (5-10 years) in the NBA. That's just being in the league.

And this article goes way deeper.

I don't trust those measurements because I really don't think they try too hard to account for the hair. And his hair is HUGE. You'll see once you watch him play. If he's standing next to Pritchard I'm betting their eyes are at the same level if not slightly higher for PP. But whatever, he's ours so no amount of griping will change his height. Length more than height matters more with wings and bigs. For PGs height can really affect the ability to see the court which is why I think he struggled with turnovers. You can only overcome height as a PG with elite BBIQ and he doesn't have it. Though, I don't think it's poor. He needs a lot of work on his game. He's more an athlete playing PG than an actual PG now but hopefully that will change. The length is good and the athleticism is elite. The skill level? Not so much. If you could combine PP's skills with Davidson's athleticism you'd have a star. With us drafting Davidson I really hope we free Pritchard. I have a feeling if Davidson was to actually make the team we'd never see Pritchard again. G.M.s like "their" guys and Pritchard is Danny's pick.

Free Pritchard!!
