I dunno about the lookalikes, but Tillman crouching down and defending players at the perimeter, flashing that lateral footwork ...

If he starts slapping the hardwood like KG... well, need I say I may simply swoon.

You're not alone and it's not like they look alike at all. It's more stature and movement. Also, I'm not accustomed to looking for X-man just yet.

Al is a gorgeous man.
Tilman's face, by comparison, looks sort of like a Muppet and I'm not sure which one yet.
But watch their bodies in action, full-court view, and they look almost identical -- which is BEAUTIFUL

Between Al’s lashes and Tillman being a younger Al but looking like an older one this thread has got it all right now lol.

The other 29 fanbases: all right there's one month left in the regular season, time to start scoreboard watching.
The Celtics fanbase: time for a comparisons of Horford and Tillman's eyelashes.

He’s WAY better defending the perimeter on switches than I expected, and I was a fanboy. First off, his footwork is elite in isolation, and guards/wings just die when they try to get past him, it’s like hitting a brick wall. With the refs letting a lot more go, makes him even more valuable.

Between that and his three ball looking pretty decent, I would bet they see a bigger PJ Tucker.

Haven't heard that comparison but it works except our Boy Tillman can also play center. soo X-Man > Tucker in potential is there.

Tucker played center in Houston.

Yeah he played some small ball 5 but he's 6'5". Tillman (at 6'8") is better equipped to play the 5. Tillman also has a 7'2" wingspan, compared to 6'11" wingspan for PJ..

Tillman has some more size, but Tucker (in his prime) was a little quicker. Like that dude (Tucker) could sometimes move really fast, especially for a 245 lbs guy. Tillman has quick. feet to stay in front of drivers. But he doesn't have that type of speed when it comes to running in a straight line..

Playing it and being it is two different things. Tillman is far more like a center than Tucker is/was.

If this guy can ever develop the corner three, watch out.

We don't need him to be prime Al Horford, just old-man Al Horford and he's already got the defensive ability and offensive skills outside of shooting (screen setting/ability to pass from the elbow/post). If he can just be league-average from the corners he'll be such an outstanding complimentary piece to our core.

The form looks good and he's not afraid to fire away, but it's still have never clicked for him. It's frustrating because I keep expecting him to drain those open corner looks because of how much he looks like Al out there, but this is still the main area there is no comparison.

Even if his shooting doesn't see any improvement, he'll be a useful piece, but if that ever came along he'd be such a HUGE steal by Brad.

There's no way Tillman is 6'8.

Surprised he's listed at 6'7.5" per his draft combine measurement. He looks closer to Grant Williams height when you look at him. Grant's 6'6" maybe?

With the caveat that I've never seen all three side by side, Tillman seems a bit taller than Jaylen and shorter than Tatum. But maybe Tillman looks smaller because he's usually near the basket.

Bumping this post so people can see Tillman's height compared to Horford and Brown. He's really not much taller than Brown.

Pictures can be misleading. Between the angle of the camera, the guys might be standing closer/further from the camera which makes them look taller/shooter, they might be hunching, etc.

Typically the most accurate source of height is the NBA draft combine measurements.

Also, wingspan matters just as much (if not more) than height. Weight also matters quite a bit when comparing size of NBA players. If we're only talking about height, we're missing some key pieces to the discussion.

So here's each players height (in shoes), wingspan and weight from the combine:

Tillman: 6'8.5", 266 lbs, 7'2" wingspan
Horford: 6'9.75", 246 lbs, 7'0.75" wingspan
Grant W: 6'7.5", 240 lbs, 6'9.75" wingspan
Tatum: didn't measure at combine. NBA.com lists him at 6'8", 210 lbs but he looks more like 6'9", 230 lbs. Reports before the draft said he has a 6'11" wingspan
Brown: 6'6.75", 222 lbs, 6'11.75" wingspan

What kind of contract will it take for Brad to lock up Tillman long term, and how long do you think Brad wants to lock him in for?
