Didn't do much draft prep this year given Brad's proclivity to disperse with picks, but, quick lookup on traits, hits boxes I definitely wanted for the team: versatile defender, cutting (hope, hope, hope this manifests), and above the rim finishing. Knocked off before the pick and checked in to see the results just now. Back to sleep and more catch up research manana,
Thanks Brad for answering my ad,
"Boston Celtics Barbershop, cutters wanted."
But after KP, your C play? You broke my heart Fredo.

Brad said they had him in twice for workouts, so they really did have their eye on him from the start.

After a Belichickian draft, let's hope he's the C's Marte Mapu.

DWhite felt sorry for himself for having a hairline the TNT guys made fun of until he saw his new teammate tonight.

The truth is both situations have probably helped to make for high-character guys--and they both play like high-character guys.

Between Walsh and Porzi being brought in and DWhite effectively getting promoted, Brad seems after the playoffs meltdown to be recommitting to smart, unselfish guys who play defense and play hard.

At the cost, we certainly hope that's who Porzingis turns out to be.

Brad preferring to trade Brogdon certainly fits your model.

His defense looos like it can play day 1 but his offense is close to nonexistent. From what little ive seen he does have potential in our drive and kick style offense.

Know nothing about him and don't plan to know more until he actually plays. Hope he wins a ring in the upcoming season though.

27.8% from deep. :sigh:

But looks ready on the defensive end. No one will be blowing past him.

if he can become a 3-and-D rotation guy in a couple of years that's a win. yeah he shot 27% from 3 in college but so did jaylen :)
or else a 6-7 tony allen would be also very welcome.

Nice of Brad to pay homage to Danny by drafting a defender that can't shoot.

At least when he's bricking threes in Joe's offense it will feel normal.

Love it. Love how how happy and proud he looks to put on that Celtics hat. Hell yeah man! He's ready to go report to Boston.

Ugh, cringe.

As I posted last night in the draft thread, he's not that bad of a shooter.

-Last 19 games of the season, shot 34.4% from 3 (not bad at all, considering the average 3 pt % among players in this draft class is 31% and Walsh is younger than most of the players in this draft class)
-Last 15 games of the season, he shot 74% on FTs
-Got off to a rough start shooting early in the season. Probably just because of the deeper 3 pt line, adjusting to the college game and having a different role than the one he had in HS. But very encouraging to see that type of improvement (from 22.5% from 3 in the first 17 games to 34.4% from 3 in the last 19 games), including a smooth catch and shoot 3 in Arkansas' upset win over #1 seed Kansas in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament
-The shooting mechanics are not bad. Just needs some minor tweaking. At times he fades backwards as he shoots it. This was even more of an issue for him in HS. But later int he season (when the 3 pt % went up higher) it looks like he cleaned that up a pretty good amount
-Shot well at the combine and in pre-draft workouts
-Only 19, played basically the whole season at age 18 so is earlier in his development. It would be much different if we were talking about a 21/22 yr old with shooting concerns (like Andre Jackson for example)

He’ll end up being a rotation player in a year or 2 imo. Pretty good for a 2nd rounder. Could be a very poor man’s Aaron Gordon

FWIW, Walsh has the same birthday as Jayson Tatum.

So does Brad being willing to part with last year's version of Smart.
