Depends on your definition of contending I guess. Is the Mavs window open because they have Luka?

Yes, it's open.

The problem with Luka is he's too ball dominant.

Swap JT for Luka and the Mavs will win more games with JT.

C’s best Regular Season in many years, best Defensive Rating etc.
KP, Jrue balance the team and 2024 White is a different animal.

This saying, it’s like JT & JB are still learning to coexist. When they play alone they usually play better for the team.
It’s a recurrent issue we’ve seen it happen previous seasons.

Joe shows glimpses of a perennial NBA champion and eventually reverts to his OJT persona.

It’ll come down to how the team will handle their weaknesses.

Perfect ending would be JT making the game winning shot against Denver in Game 7 of the 2024 NBA finals, in Boston.

Didn't mean to make it a JT vs. Luka debate, as I prefer JT too, but they're at least comparable talents. Respectfully disagree their window is open in Dallas unless it's that way to air out the smell from Grant Williams lol (jk I actually don't hate Grant). In the same way I think it'd take more than JT for us to have an open window as well.

It may depend on HOW and when they lose ( i.e. Finals Game 7 Jokic hits a 3 at the buzzer to win by 1.) But yes - short of Tatum demanding Brown has to stay or he won't sign - yes keeping them together will likely not happen.

I've seen the ending of last night's game way too many times since 2018 to believe that the J's can lead us to the promised land. Somehow a switch goes off in their heads and they revert to grade school basketball-- or even worse, AAU-style hero ball.

Maybe our backcourt pulls us through, but if it doesn't, I'm through being patient with those two.

Half of me is WiTH you ! I keep wondering HOW and WhY we keep seeing the ending of Monday's game... 08' Cs and KG would NeVER allow this type kind of game, def not MuLTIPLE X !!!

The other half keeps saying that KG and the '08 Cs were HUNTERS (coming off a 25 win season) and not the hunted...
'24 Cs get everyone's best game, Teams also know how we default to auto-pilot if we go up big early. Teams NeVER pack it in against us... PLUS, the regular season is already OVER for our guys.

This massive-blown-lead phenomenon is on Joe and the Jays... a HC needs to step in to handle these EMORMOUS PROLONGED momentum shifts ! And the Jays need to do more to SNATCH it BACK...

That said, it makes way more sense to replace Joe before thinking about breaking up Jays...

Late-game execution has been a problem over the past few seasons, but has gotten ALoT better this season ! Right now, these games are hard for our guys to stay motivated.

I can easily see it all coming together under PO intensity and spotlight, but until we finally see it and hoist the LO'B Trophy, we will keep seeing ghosts and waiting for other shoe to inevitably DRoP

Joe will be gone WAY before the Jays...

Breaking up the Jays is a pipe dream.

The owners will not make a very risky move like that.

Joe however will get fired if by 2025 the Cs still have not gotten Banner 18.

If we don't come out of the East, Joe is gone NOW !

If we come up well short in the Finals, he's likely GoNE

I think Joe has up to next season, 2024-25.

Basically 2 chances to get it done.

Is the Nuggets board this crazy after losing to the Suns at home tonight?

I don't think so.

Nuggets already got their quota.

I mean the Nuggets already won a championship, that means they can go another 40 years without winning another chip and they'll still be fine.

Walking up the ball, dribbling out the clock when you're down is not good execution. People will focus on the negative 'cos the negative, if they keep happening, will keep us from winning the title.

It's either you're all in or just say you're out.

There's no in-between here.

Remember, a lot of folks are saying this is championship or bust, right?

For many "championship or bust" has just been a phrase to mean we should win, like really should win, and if we don't it'll be a huge let down. Define "bust" though? Championship or we blow it up? Championship or we quit supporting the team? Championship or x,y,z are out of here? What are you defining "bust" as at least?

IMO championship or bust doesn't apply to this team.

The window is open until the next decade.

So I'm here for the long haul.

This is just a matter of time IMO.

Multiple championships are headed our way.

We just have to be patient.

I agree with the window being open with a solid base and Brad as a GM, but at the same time, there are absolutely no guarantees.

True.

There are no guarantees, but we have to make projections based on what we have now.

Agreed. The landscape of the league and the CBA is something we have now though too.

The numbers tell us that this is a historically great team. I think this team has another gear and will demonstrate that in the playoffs when they easily dispatch of Miami or whoever their first round opponent is. The inevitable matchup with Milwaukee will be a battle and Denver would have to be slightly favored in a series but this team is legit folks.

The talent on this roster is unmistakable, fits together perfectly and is VeRY VERY EXPENSIVE ...falling well short (2-4 Finals, not get out of the East) this season is not an option, Joe will be gone
