Quite a difference from last year to this one for Pritchard. Good for him. He deserves credit for sticking with it, showing resilience, keeping his head up, continuing to work, continuing to grind, get better..

Here's some more Pritchard propoganda:

I keep hearing about how Pritchard's going to be exposed by playoff teams, get played off the floor, and I'm really not so sure. First, he's now a competent weapon off the bench. Obviously he can shoot but his playmaking is significantly improved and his offensive rebounding has been a revelation. Bottomline: he's finding multiple ways to add value to winning here. And he gives effort and competes on defense and supported by the defenders we have here, I think it's going to be difficult for an opponent to step out of their gameplan to isolate and expose him with any sustained success over the long haul.

People said it would be an issue during the season; it hasn't been. Now the goalposts have been pushed back. Now it's the postseason. My bet is he will still get his 15-20 mpg or so. Payton Pritchard despite his constant detractors has earned his teammates' trust and his coach's trust.

If people keep saying p p will be exposed in the playoffs, Maybe maybe not. But he is the least of my worries about things being exposed..

Want to give Pritch his flowers/credit for really starting to put it together (on both ends of the floor,l and continuing to evolve and develop as a player.

Mazz and Brad clearly have a lot of faith and trust in Payton, and it's really stating to shine through .

Had a very good game against The Dubs.

Even when he has off nights when he doesn't shoot well, PP never stops trying.

Low key glad we kept him/didn't trade him. He is on a very decent contract too.

I was wrong about Pritchard — I kept saying last summer that they’d probably trade him for two seconds, and instead he’s earned a rotation spot, become a legit Energy Guy, and is locked up on really reasonable money. One of those cases where I’m glad to be wrong!

Keeping Pritchard was a hidden unlocked value of the roster changeover last summer. That is, because he hadn't played consistent minutes, he probably had a lot less trade value than he was worth.

Last season Pritchard asked to be moved somewhere so he could play. Instead of selling low on him, the Celtics kept him. He remained while Smart and Brogdon were the ones shipped out. Now his worth is unleashed.

Brad and Joe thought he could play. They were right, just as they were right about Hauser, and just as they were right about Kornet. That's some great talent evaluation that was far from obvious.

PP size hurts him when he’s trying to contest, but he’s a demon in POA defense.

Payton Strus is going to get paid big time somewhere one day. We’re just fortunate to have him right now.

He'll get hunted in the playoffs, but if he's hitting +40% from three at the same time, I think he can stay on the court. We'd be trading 2's for 3's if they're isolating on him and taking advantage of his size but we're manufacturing 3's on the other end.

He's a bulldog in a league of great danes, at a certain point there's not much you can do about getting exploited defensively with that height differential. That's really o Joe though to try and find rotations where he doesn't get played off the floor. That's infinitely easier when he's hitting his shots from deep.

At least his POA defense it’s very good, if he’s hitting his 3’s he can survive 10 minutes in the playoffs

Get PP like 250 shots up between now and the rest of the season. Lots of talk about his playoff D but just hit some threes in the playoffs and it’s all good.

Saw something about the Celtics coaching staff training Sam to hit threes in practice while cold trying to simulate coming into the game and ready to hit those threes with no time/touches to warm up. They should do same for PP. He won't play more than 10 mins in a playoff game. There's a better chance he gets hunted in those minutes than him making an offensive impact in such a short span.

What he did in the Warriors game is easier for him (or most anybody really) since he got extended time/usage.
