Gorman and Heinsohn were as good as it gets. Grande has the golden pipes but too often he lets his ego get in the way of the commentary. Scal is so so.

Gotta love Mike. Just an awesome play-by-play guy who has been awesome for a LONG time.

Great voice that really captures and keeps your attention. Some play-by-play guys overdo it with their voice and try too hard to make a "radio voice" but Mike has a great voice but it sounds natural, too. And he keeps things light and fun with some of the little jokes and little stuff he says sometimes. But at the same time, always makes sure the game and the players on the floor are the main focus.

Seems like a good, humble guy too. Bleeds green. A true professional.

I've been hearing his voice on games since I was a kid. Some great memories.

Hope we can win 1 more banner in his last season and then I wish him nothing but the best, in terms of health and happiness in retirement!

Celtics have had some great play-by-play men over the years. I used to love Mike calling the NCAA tournament during the 90's as well. Glad he's good for one more go-round.

Grande does seem to be our most likely candidate to have a sound bite of a very memorable moment so I’m not sure who else to replace Gorman so he gets the job. I hadn’t thought of it but maybe it is his ego that gets in the way on tv when it doesn’t come across as much when you’re only listening to the game.

Gorman and Breen are friends anyway.

Perhaps more to the point:
-- They're very similar professionally.
-- Breen has achieved a little higher status and recognition than Gorman has.
-- Many people, including me, regard them as full equals.
-- Breen may be one of those people.
-- Breen's status and recognition are pretty much what Breen and Gorman each deserve.

I am NOT looking forward Sunday. I know nothing lasts forever but I wouldn't mind if Mike would remain the voice of the C's forever. I have so many memories as a kid going to my Uncle's house to watch the C's play. He was the cool Uncle who had one of those giant satellite dishes that could get every game. Even as a kid, I loved listening to Mike. He made it fun, excitable, and interesting. I live in PA but I always felt like I was sitting courtside and for that, I am extremely grateful. In a time where people throw the world GOAT around for just about anyone, I can honestly say that you, sir, are the GOAT and will be missed more than you can ever imagine. Thank you Mr. Gorman!

Time flies.

Can't believe it's been 38 years since I became a Celtic fan.

With Tommy gone and now Mike leaving, it's not going to be the same.

As a long time Boston fan and yet not a Boston native I probably didn't listen to him as much as most of you...

But what an amazing career he had.. He was straight-laced when he needed to be, had a good enough sense of humor when required, all while being pleasant And intelligent without being overbearing...

I will miss him..
