JT has a chance to change the narratives. Sadly, only way to do that is become Finals MVP on a title team. That seems to be the bar set on him by everyone after his “failures” before age 26 lol.

Doesn't have to win Finals MVP, just a championship. Although if the Celtics win a championship then odds are that Tatum would be Finals MVP.

Part of the narrative I'm talking about is that he's not even the best player on his team. If Cs win and he doesn't win Finals MVP, that narrative will only be amplified.

Yeah he’s just along for the ride and the easy ring like Durant. ;) . But fair point after Pritchard wins the finals MVP.

He’s a lock to make his third straight first team all nba, I don’t think there’s many narratives about him not being the best player on the team, just if he’s good enough to lead a team to a title.

Jaylen looks to have a great shot at third team, as well.

I could see the NY narrative pushing Brunson onto 1st team. It's at least closer than it was voting wise a few weeks ago, but how much of that is JT's fault? We've had little to play for during those weeks while Brunson has been fighting for his life to get wins for the Knicks.

A roleplayer plays really well in a game that doesn't involve the Celtics at all and suddenly that's cause for criticizing Tatum for not playing as well that night, even though the Celtics weren't playing. Why not say Nikola Jokic is now Nic Jokic until he plays as well as Nic Batum in a game.

The discourse regarding Tatum has gotten so absurd and unfair that it makes it hard to distinguish sarcasm and jokey-jokes now.

I feel like this is more about how close their names are yet so far apart in pronounciations.

I mean, sure you can go Nic and Nikola...but really not that close.

Next season, there could be a Nikola Jokic, Nikola Jovic, and Nikola Topic all in the NBA.

Perhaps he could clarify that means to the opponent, not just the refs?

I kid, I kid.

Surprised Ant Edwards isn't on here.
Is LaMelo Ball still in the NBA?
