The ceiling thread was the cocoon, and this thread will be the beautiful butterfly. May as well post his numbers against the Bucks the last couple of years.

This season: 31/8/3 on a 61% TS
Last season: 27/7/5 on a 60% TS.

Will need to do every bit of that, and more.

Earlier in that old thread my bold prediction that his ceiling was Kobe when many said Tobias or Rudy Gay.

With his trajectory, that may have been a conservative call.

I think I went with KD: somewhat inferior on offense due to height, but making up for it on defense. That may have been too conservative too.

I was wondering who would be number #1 on the wall of shame one of the great real gm surprises.

IDK who Tatum could be like.
Michael Jordan himself, didn't win a Championship until his 7th year.

This Kid's on a high trajectory.
And, he's only 24.

Hmmm . . .

If you add up zoya and Constables posts for no reason at all, it was a little closer than I would have liked.

It’s actually not quite as lopsided as I thought it would be honestly lol.

Onto Tatum his ceiling or trajectory is unknown at this point.

This run from the start of about late February ish to now has been some sort of mix of kawhi and Lebron.

He’s been finishing at the rim at a Giannis percentage, his frame is huge, he’s getting to the line more, he taking on toughest defensive assignments and hes dictating the game as the floor general.

His mentality too has been that of a straight killer that look on his face in the nets series oh man.

He doin it right now.

In the 1st round, Tatum (26.6%) is 4th among non-guard starters in assist percentage behind Giannis, Jokic, and Draymond. He's 2nd on the team behind Smart (26.7%) and has raised his assist % every postseason since 2019.

The way he's morphed into a floor general has elevated his play and that of his teammates.

He’s passed every test so far that’s been thrown at him. IMO he’s top 5 right now and this playoff run is going to cement that further. The next question for him is how much more room for growth does he have left. Where can Tatum go from here to have one final zenkai before his true prime years?
