Let's hope this is the norm and it carries over into the postseason. I still love bullyball Tatum though. Punish mismatches whenever possible. Drive and post-up and get fouled. Iso pullups feel like a bailout for the defense sometimes.

The fact that bully ball is now on the table for both him and JB has me pretty damned excited for the playoffs. The versatility on both sides of the ball for those 2 is ridiculous.

Someone on reddit posted a clip of all the fadeaway shots Tatum has taken over the past 3 years, with 5 minutes or less left in the game. He's shooting just 32% on them (12/37).

Still a dumb ass player.

Jayson Tatum is saving the best for last.

Maybe like that game winning 3-pointer that Kyrie hit to beat GSW in the 2016 Finals.

Tatum is an elite player but for a guy his size and with his skill, he struggles to impact the game enough when he is not scoring. Really seems to play head games with him to the point it impacts effort and decision making. He has gotten better but it is something he needs to figure out for the Celtics to reach the level of success they should. He also needs to stop giving up defensive possessions arguing with officials.

Lol, I hope it'll save him too. Guy has mental breakdown and forgets how to play at the heated moment. I say we save the money and sign some other stars like SGA (when is he gonna be a UFA?)

Nothing wrong with dreaming.

But JT leaving the Celtics is just that, a dream.

Our title hopes rest on Tatum either being Tatum, or that guy who couldn't play in the 4th last night. His comments afterward have me VERY concerned, where he said something to the effect of he's not going to force it to get his own points, he's going to make the right play. That's not the alpha, #1 team option mentality, he needs to be game winning Tatum when we need him.

I'm very concerned that he overthinks crunch time too much, always looking for and thinking about the best play instead of just playing. Besides his comments, the end of the Cavs game spelled this out to, how he looked like a deer in the headlights, dribbling slowly up the court, wasting nearly all 17 seconds trying to think what to do, and looking nervously toward the bench for input. Every other MVP type player would have just ran down the court and played that final play with the urgency needed. You can't overthink it or second guess yourself in those situations. I'd rather have him recklessly attack the rim and miss, than the stupid fallaway shot he got, after wasting all that time womdering what to do. At least we definitely would have had enough time for a KP put back there.

Read on Twitter

Tatum would be between Russell and Bird in this chart at 21.46% currently.

Wait, so why isn't he in this chart? Is there a minimum games played they don't list?

Probably. Embiid and Jokic up there with him had they made the list.

Should Jayson model his game after Paul George? I've been wondering for a while.

I learned from this board that slumps don’t happen to MVP candidates. With nothing to back their claim. Who to believe.

I’d be curious to know what their team’s records were during those slumps. We went 1-2. If other teams did better or the same does it debunk the “he’s not an mvp bc he has too much help” narrative?

Hopefully JT's current slump means he'll be scorching hot when the Playoffs start.
