Stevens strategy in his first two years as POBO -- Trade future 1sts for players who fit well on the team and can contribute now. Preferably on multi-year deals, no rentals. Extend contracts of core players. Find value picks in the 2nd round (Begarin, Davison) then develop them in the background. Sign former 1sts (Vonleh, Jackson, Kabengele) who didn't work well on other teams for end of bench depth.

Yup, it's a good strategy. We have arguably the best front office in the league.

Long term, Davison and Begarin could be one of the league's most explosive bench duos.

JD posting a cool 14.6/9/9/2.6 per 36 in garbage time this year. Seems sustainable imo.

Bye bye, Pritchard.

I know it's just a workout with no defenders, but his jump shot looks much better.

Looking forward to seeing him in summer league.

Looking good — the Yam Madar Era might die on the runway due to this guy.

Yeah at this point I'd put JD firmly ahead of Yam.

Might want to just cut our losses and include Yam as filler in a trade. Maybe someone (a lottery team) wants to give him a shot as a backup PG.

Yam just won the EuroLeague up and comer award, so that hype might be enough for someone to want him.

I'd like to see it too. But he's gotta earn it. Next chance is summer league, then training camp, then preseason. If he plays well in those settings (and if we move 1 of the other guards on the roster) he could get a shot at some spot minutes here and there this season.

One step at a time. But he's clearly got some good potential. It's just tough for a 21 year old kid to get minutes on a contender.

The Celtics also extended a $1.8 million qualifying offer to JD Davison. Last year's second-round pick spent his rookie campaign on a two-way deal.

Yam is the better player right now.
He played in a tougher league against better opponents under a very strict coach. He made huge strides in playmaking and most important defense. He was instrumental in getting Partizan a Championship (first since many years).

And "just won the EuroLeague up and comer award" AKA EuroLeague Rising Star - being in a good company:

2004–05 Slovenia Erazem Lorbek (Climamio Bologna)
2005–06 Italy Andrea Bargnani (Benetton Treviso)
2006–07 Spain Rudy Fernández (DKV Joventut)
2007–08 Italy Danilo Gallinari (Armani Jeans Milano)
2008–09 Serbia Novica Veličković (Partizan)
2009–10 Spain Ricky Rubio (Regal FC Barcelona)
2010–11 Spain Nikola Mirotić (Real Madrid)
2011–12 Spain Nikola Mirotić (Real Madrid)
2012–13 Greece Kostas Papanikolaou (Olympiacos)
2013–14 Serbia Bogdan Bogdanović (Partizan)
2014–15 Serbia Bogdan Bogdanović (Fenerbahçe Ülker)
2015–16 Spain Álex Abrines (FC Barcelona Lassa)
2016–17 Slovenia Luka Dončić (Real Madrid)
2017–18 Slovenia Luka Dončić (Real Madrid)
2018–19 Georgia (country) Goga Bitadze (Budućnost VOLI)
2020–21 Spain Usman Garuba (Real Madrid)
2021–22 Lithuania Rokas Jokubaitis (Barcelona)
2022–23 Israel Yam Madar (Partizan)

I wish he will come play in training camp to show it

From what I get from European and Israeli papers - there sure is a chance. Yam really wants to make it to the NBA and make it in the NBA
He was the most talented player on the Israeli national team that won the Euro cup a few years ago (with Deni Avdija and others)

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but have they given Davidson the qualifying offer for next season? Or is there any talk of another contract yet?
