3 years/$6M, guaranteed for the first 2 sounds good!

I’d said 4/12M, guaranteed first 2 and am glad to be wrong. No one else seems to have specified a guess.

It’s a good deal because you go through this season in the belief he can contribute, and if he can’t, then he’s an expiring/trade fodder for the next Brogdon-esque deal:)

Good deal. Get him 10 minutes or so next year and see if he can open things up offensively and give Tatum rest

There are some back up wing minutes available, and if the Celtics don't pick up anyone else at the position, Hauser will get a shot at being a rotation player.

He improved quite a bit on defense through the season.

“First and foremost, the shooting stands out,” Celtics coach Ime Udoka said in April. “Elite shooter…But he’s a very cerebral player across the board. He’s fit in well in games that he’s played early in the season when guys were injured. He plugged right in and he didn’t really miss a beat as far as, defensively, and some of the things we were looking for. So, always in the right spot, great team defender and knows how to use himself, his angles and a cerebral guy, not just offensively but defensively as well.”

Hopefully this kid can go down the Duncan Robinson/Gabe Vincent path and become a legit NBA player

Congrats to Hauser for turning a two way into 4+ guaranteed millions.

That third ungaranteed year is huge. Great job from Stevens of locking down a potential rotation piece for a while on the cheap. If he turns out he can't cut it in the NBA it's going to be very easy to unload his salary/use it in a trade.

I felt like we could have plugged him in at times in the playoffs, but we barely used him to close out the regular season, so he wasn't quite up to speed. He's a career 44% 3pt shooter in college, and with the small sample size so far in the NBA, he's still at 43%. He has a chance to be a great knockdown shooter off our bench.

Not sure if this guy is going to be good enough for the move to pay off.

But it's worth noting that filling it up from deep in garbage time is not as easy as you might think. He's stroked 19/44 threes while coming on cold once every two weeks to go 1/2. He's also gone 57/140 in the G league. Taken together, along with a pretty shot, it's quite easy to see him hit his shots. The rest just has to catch up.

Na.. replacement for Injuries or he will get last 2 mins of the game unless he shows improvement in the practice. Other than that forget starters he won’t be able to top our newly bench squad. Probably will get traded..

Hauser didn't even suit up for most (all?) of the playoffs. Something about his shoulder.

True. He was active for the Finals, but a little too late. Between his injury and lack of playing time, he wouldn't have been a difference maker, but we really could have used a shooter like that. Hopefully, he can contribute like that soon.

Duncan Robinson mold if they want to emphasize that in their offense. Has never been a part of their offense but Hauser is the guy if they want to incorporate some of those same sets.

Elite shooter with size and some defensive limitations. Hoping he can help out in regular season to take some minutes off JB and JT. Seems like we know have enough ball handlers on the roster to where he should be able to get more minutes

It seems like the Celtics may be giving him a legitimate chance to be the shooter the Celtics are looking for. The only reservation I have with this is possibly losing the Fournier TPE over this strategy znd then not having it if Hauser doesn't pan out.
He's a 43% 3 point shooter. We let Max Strus go because we could never give him a chance. The Celtics are deep enough to give him enough rope to succeed

I really hope so too, but that depends on Ime :noway: I bet he'll do wonders with the Spurs, Miami and GSW...they know how to develop and discover talents.
