Mazzulla wasn’t the only one who spoke highly of Hauser after the contest. Derrick White said that Hauser is automatic in practice and that having a year of experience should help those results translate to the court.

“Sam, in open gym, didn’t seem like he ever misses. He didn’t miss much last year. And so just getting that year under his belt, being more assertive, and more sure of himself.”

More good shooting is always welcomed. Hope Hauser finds some rotation minutes. Him and Pritchard are our best shooters from 3.
With defenses focused on Tatum and Brown, Hauser can provide some spacing and 3pt shooting.

His D is not that bad. And let's not base too much off 1 preseason game.

I posted a bunch of game footage (from NBA games last year, g league games last year and summer league games this year) earlier in this thread that shows him holding his own defensively..

Can’t believe he’s only signed for 3 years. Fire Brad.

Not signing Melo was a good call. Give Sam a chance.

He's a good shooter off the catch, but he roams rather than moves with serious intent. He has overall skills so he's not a strict stick him the the corner kind of player and can be trusted to attack off rotations. A bit loose off the defending off the ball and isn't a strong on ball defender. He'll be good to put out in the regular season, but has a lot of ground to make up before he's relied upon in more crucial games.

The Hoos definitely have a connection. 7/9 Hauser 3s assisted by Brogdon.

Brogdon has always been great at finding shooters. It’s the quality of shooters that have fluctuated throughout his career. Alls I know is that Sam needs shots.

He might not be a run of screens type of shooter like Robinson (yet) but he’s excellent at relocating, finding the right angles to cut. When you watch him, he’s rarely standing still, always anticipating to fill in open spots.

Hauser’s a 6’8” forward guys, he’s not going to look like Ray Allen off ball.

Don't want to get too worked up over 1 preseason game vs a bad hornets team. Excited to see how he looks tomorrow night!

Robinson flies past screens to catch-and-shoot.That's the big thing he does (or did when his shot was falling) that Hauser so far doesn't. But unless a guy is a lead or second-lead scorer, I'm not sure how much difference that makes vs. what Hauser evidently now can do himself.

Hauser and Duncan space the floor. Like, you always have to k on where Robinson is. Even when he doesn’t shoot and score, you still gotta guard him.

Robinson is a great shooter who is relentless off screens.

Hauser more catch and shoot. But he is also bigger. I love the guy. Place him at the 4 and watch how much offense opens up .

Shooting - spacing- make you pay.. Hauser is potentially an A+ in these all important categories. And at 6'8, it's even more valuable as he can get shots off a smaller shooter can not.. And I should mention that having a player, who does not need many touches to be effective, is more valuable, when playing alongside all the "scorers" Boston has to get going..

I also believe that a lineup of, RW at center and his vertical spacing/threat + passing with Tatum at Forward, Hauser at the other, and J Brown and Brogdon at guard is/will be the most Un guardable lineup Boston has..

Really can't wait to see that lineup together.
