I thought Oppenheimer was good but perhaps a bit overhyped, and now over-awarded. To me it was somehow simultaneously too long while also rushing quite a bit of the story. It was also surprising to me that it was such a commercial success considering how dense it was with technical science that was likely lost on most viewers. I found myself fascinated by the science and wanting to understand things they just kinda glossed over. I dunno. It's a matter of personal taste of course but I would have voted for either Poor Things or American Fiction as Best Picture.

Shogun is fantastic, it is the best show I’ve seen in a long time.

I’m also enjoying Dick Turpin on Apple TV a lot. A bit of fun, especially if you like Noel Fielding.

Not sure if you have Peacock but the new series Apples Never Fall is really good. It's a mystery/drama with lots of twists and turns. I still have 2 episodes left and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends. Your girl Alison Brie is in it, which is why I'm quoting you haha.

I’m 30 minutes into the pilot. And she’s the only reason why I’m watching this lol.

It gets pretty good as it goes. Maybe a little slow/corny in places but I'm dying to know what happened to the mom.

Looks like a great 2-hour commercial for Burning Man and Wasteland Weekend :D

I don't even get the Kate Middleton reference, but still find this hilarious because of Aunt Viv alone. Still can't believe they just thought we wouldn't notice.

That will be the 5th alien movie. Decent franchise.

Meanwhile, I'm through the 5th installment of Shogun and its still excellent.

Apparently this new one is set between Alien and Aliens, which is a pretty cool idea. And definitely agree on Shogun, it is such a good show. Have you read the book? I had never heard of it until the show came out, I am interested in reading it after the series finishes.

This could be good as well (or it might be terrible):
