He would be? At least Kornet can stay healthy and has familiarity with our system, our schemes and has experience playing with our guys..

“Familiarity with our system, our schemes and has experience playing with our guys..” means absolutely nothing.

Celtics have 82 games before the playoffs start. Plenty of time for anyone to get up to speed.

Probably a bunch of nothing and he’s on the team still….the roster thing on the teams website especially. Won’t miss him tho if he is gone

Yeah and how many games are we going to lose in the regular season, trying to get Zeller up to speed when we could have been playing a guy who's just as good and in his 3rd year with the team?

Do you honestly think that continuity means nothing in the NBA? You think you can just plug and play guys into any system and they will perform like robots, like it's a video game?

Not to mention Zeller is more injury prone than Kornet.

It’s the 3rd string center. Kornet sucks. Lol at continuity like if he’s off team everything stops

I’d appreciate if this is for real and not just a mistake.

Kornet was running with the starting unit to open training camp - before rolling his ankle.

I never said everything stops. Simply stating my opinion that going from Zeller to Kornet is not a "clear upgrade" as another poster said.

Kornet is not that bad:

I said Zeller would be a clear upgrade and he is. Zeller was a #4 pick who has started 273 NBA games.

I like this strategy where the Sixers think we're lacking bigs to go against Embiid then on tomorrow night's starting five introductions... "Starting at center, from Vanderbilt University..."

So what? Enes Freedom was a number 3 pick, has also started 273 games (including playoffs) and he's out of the league.

If that was the criteria used by GM's, then how the heck is Dwight Howard still a free agent?

Zeller and Kornet were both free agents this offseason. Brad chose to sign Kornet instead. Brad then signed Vonleh, Caboclo and Kabengele instead of Zeller. Then waived Caboclo and signed Samanic - instead of Zeller.

It's gotta be an oversight. Celtics would have said something by now.

Let’s just hope Stevens doesn’t cut Justin Jackson or the Celtics might by in the lottery

Jackson played some for the Celtics last year and was here all preseason. Jackson knows all the plays, schemes and everything.

Fingers crossed!!!!

Well sure, they didn't want to pay market value, which in Zeller's case was around $15M. But if he clears waivers tomorrow he likely costs only the veterans minimum.

Zeller's market value was not $15 mil this off-season?

$15 million? What are you talking about? Zeller was worth $15 mil this offseason, yet the only deal he could get was a training camp deal with the Jazz? Only to be waived by the Jazz..

Players I thinkwould help this team more than Luke Kornet.

Jesse Plemons character in Like Mike.
Current day Bob Cousy
Derrick Favors
The old lady from Space Jam
The entire cast of the Sixth Man
Jay King
Bucknersrevenge
The Monstars after they give the talent back
The ghost of JB
JD from Scrubs
Moe Harkless
Moe Szyslak
Marshall Eriksen
The guys with no speaking lines in Coach Carter
Bob from Day Of the Dead.

And many more.

Isn't his contract guarantee tomorrow?

Edit: Half-guaranteed tomorrow

Read on Twitter

Even more annoying, Kornet doesn't have Twitter or IG. I can't even check if he's still wearing a Celtics uniform on his profile pic.

Yep. Cap/tax implications apart from the open roster spot.
