Congrats, KP, for PotW!

4 of the 5 starters have now won it this season. Can’t remember if that happened with KG/PP/Ray/Rondo in same season.

We need Jrue to win it for the last week of the season so that our whole starting lineup won one.

Checked… Ray Allen never won PotW with the Cs. And we never had more than two different PotW awardees in the same season during that era.

Just gonna say it, that seems kind of like a weak stat line to win the award. 19.8/10 is good of course, but no one else was better?

Embiid and Maxey's statlines pop out among players with undefeated weeks. Brunson was impressive past week but Knicks went 2-2. Apart from the block party, KP's shooting splits -- 66/64/82 -- may have distinguished him from the pack of 20+ ppg scorers. In any case, caught me by surprise too since we are in coast mode.

Porzingis has now won the PotW award with four different teams -- NYK, DAL, WAS, BOS. Not even Lebron has done that lol.

Stat line doesn't talk about defence.

Boston has been an excellent fit for KP. This team can be full of legends in the making with a Championship.

I like this guy. I like his personality, his smily face, his positive attitude. I like his shooting ability, his rim protection, his passing. His post play, however, looks like an afterthought. It's as if "I'm 7'3" so I must be able to operate in the post". Well it doesn't work. Those are ugly possessions, ugly shots. They generally don't fall in. So let's avoid them.

So let's just ignore the fact that he was one of the most efficient post-up players in the league in regular season (maybe the most efficient? Last time I saw it mentioned he was at the top with 1.30ppp which is absolute elite number). Now, you could make an argument that play-offs is not the same as regular season in terms of adversity from the defense that he's going to have to face and you would be right. At the moment I'm not sure if he can produce quality possessions in post against play-off defenses like he did in regular season - the last game didn't feel me with confidence, but I think he deserves a chance to prove if a) that was just an off day for him - that can happen to anybody and b) if he can adapt to physicality - I guess we'll see soon enough.
