The yearly numbers don't sound like a particularly great deal for us either. I'm fine with it though as long as we keep the entire gang together instead of having to sacrifice someone like White

Totally worth every penny IF we keep the whole gang around. That means White, Jrue, Tatum, Brown, Porzingis. If we end up sacrificing White for this deal then I don't see the benefit.

Should take his salary next season down by ~$9.4m. Was kind of a given if he stayed, but still good overall.

4th year at ~$37.5m a bit rough for a 37yo guard, but cap should spike soon anyway.

I'm thinking this was all but complete on the day of the trade anyway.

Edit:

2024-25: $30m
2025-26: $32.5m
2026-27: $35m
2027-28: $37.5m

Conley is 36 and still going strong. Lowry is 38 and is still a playoff rotation player. See no reason why Holiday wouldn’t age well

Pretty happy with it. They will already have a plan to retain White (which may or may not involve ditching Jaylen) which was my only concern with a Jrue extension.

We still need to lock up White. Give him a deal to match Jrue's and ride with our current starting 5. I totally believe they can get it done at some point in the next 3-4 years no matter what happens this year.

So this is an opt out and extend? New contract starts next year? If so saves the team quite a bit of money for next year.
