I can't believe the Cs gave up 2 All-NBA players in this trade....oh, wait?

Because Al is old and Porzingis is injury prone. Cs gave up too much.

By 2029 I’ll be drinking moon juice with president Jonathan Taylor Thomas, not worried about that pick.

Have you watched Bradley Beal lately? Talk about injury prone.. also FWIW Jrue was 1st team all defense and an All Star last year, and won a title three years ago — these are some credentials Marcus cannot claim.

Well, I hope I'm wrong, but to me, the picks are way too much for a guy like Holiday.. Do you think he's better than Lilard? I remember Holiday bullying Lilard in the playoffs but it was 4-5 years ago... I think Lilard is the better player now and the Bucks somehow got Lilard for less. I know Beal was injured last season- it was the reason why Porzingis was the main man. Still beal cost like 3-4 2nd roudners...

Celtics trade: Rob, Malcolm, GS 1st, own 1st in 29
Get: Holiday
Bucks trade: Holiday, Allen, own 29 1st and two swaps (28 and 30)
Get: Lillard

I disagree the Bucks got Lillard for less

I think Lillard is better than Holiday offensively, but that Holiday is probably a better fit for the Celtics, and he’s possibly going to be something like $10/year cheaper too (Lillard signed for 4/$176 I believe, Holiday at 2/$77 now, hopefully extends two more at $30M each to make it 4/$137?)

I honestly don't understand this. I'd rather have Smart back. Everybody here knows I'm not a huge Smart fan, but that's too much for an over the hill Holiday... Heck, why didn't we get Beal instead? Beal was traded for scraps and makes similar money(he's much younger, too, both have had a few injuries in their careers).

You should actually check people’s ages before making your whole opinion based only of it.

Jrue will be 33 for ALMOST all of next season.

They didn’t give up more assets for Holiday than Bucks did for Holiday. The Bucks gave up Holiday (worth RW, Brogdon and 2 picks) plus three draft picks for Dame. Basically Milwaukee gave up the entire Celtics offer plus three picks.

Jrue isnt going to be that for us.

I like Brogdon a lot. But apparently not many GMs do at his $$.

I’d bet Jrue starts next to Derrick, so yeah, not expecting him to compete for 6MOY. But you don’t think Jrue Holiday will be a top four Celtic player this year?

You're focused on the wrong part.

You can't give them Rob AND two picks.

It's one of the other.

If you want to watch Holiday go to MIA or somewhere else, sure, lowball them.

I agree I’m focused on the wrong part though: the Celtics made a BIG and DIFFICULT trade so all of us need to process emotions about it. I will stop trying to help it all make sense for everyone and go enjoy this Sunday. Peace! Confidence! Hutzpah!

This is awesome. Our starting 5 is ridiculous. I’ll miss Rob, but came around to the fact that this had to be the trade if we did it. KP, Al and Kornet is great at C. Al helps more against Joel and Giannis than Rob.

And we kept Walsh! Brad is killing it

Trade is fine for this season. You quickly run into issues though if they don't win the ship THIS year.

Sorry not sorry. You can't give up more for Jrue than bucks gave up for Dame and then just say yo, unconditionally this is a great trade.

It's an overpayment and it's not debatable.

Say what you will about his availability, but when Rob played, the defense was special. Gonna miss him.

Congrats guys. Jrue wasn't great the last two years in the playoffs but we don't win the chip in 2021 without him. He'll be good for you guys and a GREAT teammate. One of my all-time favorite Bucks.

Bonus: Heat fans who've been butt hurt over the Dame trade have now been bent over a second time. That's a shame.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The 2029 pick is one of those where you kind of wish it was at least a top-10 protected but too far out to really care. I don't know about our big situation at the moment. At the moment, a lot of reliance on health and slotting Tatum/Brissett/Stevens at that 4 spot.

I wonder if we would be better if original trade went down and we had KP, Smart, Rob instead of KP and Holiday. Long term I think so but I feel our title chances are much better now.

Y'all can argue about if we, "gave up too much". I really don't care. What matters to me is if we are more suited to win banner 18 now than we were before the trade. Rather you like the trade or not should be based on the answer to that question and that question alone.

Before the trade we were a championship contender. Now, you could argue strongly we are the favorite. Sucks to lose Rob but this was a no brainer move if the goal is to win banner 18 and not just be okay with coming close again.

I love this. We needed to go all in and give JT/JB all the help they need to win while they're young. I will miss Rob but it's clear injuries will likely have a big effect on his career going forward. Wish him nothing but the best

Well, Jrue and D-white are both 6'4". That's decent size at guard. Now, if we're giving Prithcard big minutes, then we'll be kind of undersized.

But this move opens up a roster spot - and hopefully we use that spot to sign a FA who is good and is bigger than Pritchard.

Tatum and Brown are basically guards too, and they're 6'8" and 6'6".
